Fafhrd and the Gray Mouser are not in the Countess' sleeping chamber. As you fight the guards who were outraged to catch you there, you realize that they have likely left the party now.

Yala misses. Alay hits for 10 damage. The trainees hit for 6 damage. One of the guards misses. The other scores a double damage hit which is deflected by the Silver Sword of Death.

Yala hits for 15 damage. Alay misses. The trainees miss. One of the guards misses, the other hits Yala for 6 damage.

Yala misses. Alay scores a double damage result for 20 damage. The trainees miss. One of the guards misses, the other hits Alay for 6 damage.

Yala hits for 15 damage, finishing off the guards.

You leave the party. Spies tell you Fafhrd and the Mouser are on Silver Street. As you head in that direction, you hear cries of "Stop, thief!" behind you. Hoping it's Fafhrd and his friend, you turn around--only to see someone pointing at you! "Stop, thief!" they yell again.

You're innocent, but do the Overlord's guards believe you?

Yala hits for 15 damage to the Overlord's guards. Alay misses. The guards miss twice and hit once, deflected by the Silver Sword of Death.

Yala scores a double damage result for 30 damage, finishing off the guards.

You see more guardsmen running down the street.

1) Hide in the first building you see?
2) Run to the Street of the Gods and hide in a temple?

Yala: 22/40
Alay: 18/40

I vote to run to the street of the gods and hide in the temple, as I think that hiding in the first building is a trap.

Running into an abandoned temple, you turn and look outside. The guards come to a halt, and for a moment you're afraid they'll follow you in! But they just shrug their shoulders and leave.

"That's one thief we won't have to worry about," one laughs.

Turning around, you are horrified to see Wights coming out of the darkness toward you!

You can run from the Wights, but if you do you will need to apply a total of 20 hit points worth of damage split between the members of your group. Alternatively you can stand and fight them. Which do you choose?

(Yes, this abandoned temple would be familiar to Quarsh and Kissla.)

Kill the wights. Hopefully with no damage, we get 4 attacks before they have a possibility of harming us, and we need 3 to land to win.

I also vote to kill the wights. If we win, I vote not to switch any of our weapons for it.

I think we should try somewhere we've already been but they weren't at. My vote is Ogo the Blind, but Aarth or the Gods would be fine

I seem to have forgotten the trainees entirely at Countess Kronia's Estate, oops! I'll roll their attacks and edit those posts now.

Agree to go to Ogo the Blind’s shop to see if we can hopefully intercept them as they try to sell their wares.

Fafhrd and the Gray Mouser are not at the Shop of Ogo the Blind.

You are reluctant to enter the Temple of Aarth. You know little about its god and less about what goes on inside. You'll have to find another way to get information. Then you see two robed women leaving the temple. You decide to question them.

"Did either of you see a huge barbarian with red hair inside? He'd have a smaller, city-type fellow with him." You thought it was a perfectly simple question. But the two women suddenly shriek in terror, run from the temple entrance, and flee down the street.

As you stare after them in amazement, you are nearly knocked down by several priests, who run after the women.

1) Help the women escape the priests.
2) Help the priests catch the women.
3) Leave in disgust.

I would like to help the women too, they seem to recognise the people we're talking about, so may be able to tell us where they are.

You have to help these women. You don't know what they did to merit the priests' attention, but you suspect it wasn't their pretty faces!

When the priests reach the marketplace, you tip over a stall, sending objects rolling beneath the feet of the priests. They tumble down, and that ends the chase. Taking your time, you easily catch up with the frightened women.

"We-we're new in town," one says, blushing, then says something to her companion in what you recognize as thieves' cant. You tell them that you're working for the Thieves' Guild.

They thank you for helping them and give you:

A Potion of Healing which restores 9 Hit Points of damage, and a Brooch of Turning which will automatically do 15 damage to one undead creature without consuming an action.

Let me know if you want to drink the Potion of Healing immediately, and now you wait for Fafhrd and the Gray Mouser to end their turn.

Hello,

This is a general notice that I will be out of town from now until the next two weeks and not have reliable access to the internet due to a larger than usual family trip.

Beroli, if you want to proceed with just Dogopolis’s votes from this point forward, I give full permission. Hope everyone has a happy holiday.

They are not at the Temple of the Gods of Lankhmar.

Finally! After searching the Street of the Gods for days, you've spotted them--Fafhrd and the Gray Mouser! But you can't get to them through this crowd! Pushing and shoving, you follow them down the street, hoping for a chance to attack.

Then you notice that they're following the Overlord's guards! You move from the Street of the Gods, up Cheap Street, then to Temple Street, and then to Royal Road. Are these two going to the Rainbow Palace itself?

Suddenly, however, Fafhrd and the Gray Mouser turn one way and the guards another. The two thieves enter a large estate. You don't know who owns it.

1) Force the gates. You're not going to pass up this chance of catching these two. You're sure the estate owner will understand.

2) Forcing the gates is too risky. You wait, hoping they won't leave by a secret exit.

You force open the gates, only to find a wizard and his bodyguard waiting for you!

Yala hits the fighters for 15 damage. Alay misses. The trainees miss. The wizard uses a wand which is deflected by the Golden Sword of Death. The fighters score a hit, which is deflected by the Silver Sword of Death.

Yala hits the fighters for 15 damage, finishing them off. Alay hits the wizard for 15 damage, killing him.

You see Fafhrd and the Gray Mouser disappear through a door. You follow. Use the Combat Table...

the result is a miss and they escape.

(Turn ends.)

When the Thieves' Guild spies once again pick up their trail, they are in the City of Lankhmar but not on the Street of the Gods.

Will you look for them at:

Street of the Silk Merchants
Cheap Street
Damp Street
Cutthroat Alley
Rainbow Palace
Animal Handlers' Guild Area
Blue Moon Inn
Park In Lankhmar
Carter Street
Nun Street
Great Library of Lankhmar
Plaza of Dark Delights
