Peculiar properties of spacetime ensure that the perception of the magnitude of Soon is fluid and dependent, not on an individual's time-reference, but on spatial and cultural location. A marketer generally perceives Soon as a finite, known, yet unspeakable time-interval; to a fan, the interval appears greater, and may in fact approach the infinite, becoming Never. Once the interval has passed, however, a certain time-lensing effect seems to occur, and the time-interval becomes vanishingly small. We therefore see the strange result that the same fragment of spacetime may be observed, in quick succession, as Soon, Never, and All Too Quickly.
For my sons, they received special services at preschool and kindergarten due to language delay and developmental delay. But they caught up with their peers so well that for my elder he basically graduated out of needing additional help and my younger seems on pace to do so as well (we had a progress meeting on Friday). For a while it was expected they were going to need special Ed help in middle school due to autism.
If they hadn't gone to preschool i imagine their development wouldn't have turned out so well. Made me appreciate public school system we live in whereas before kids I was torn between homeschool and private school due to my low opinion of Indianapolis public schools. But neither private nor homeschooling have access to the resources that were such a boon (had speech therapist, physical therapist and psychologist).

Thanks! Like erik said (and his experience correlates almost perfectly with mine)... We received a lot of support for Lowercase Gi from the school system that we wouldn't have had access to otherwise. And preschool starting at age 2. In Olympia, he had an entourage of eight people - therapists and such - who worked with him. After the move, the team got smaller - down to five. Now it's just two - the school counselor and his teacher.
What it means is that he won't be tracked - put on an academic course based on what random school peeps project for him. He nearly was.

My son makes me laugh. Maybe he'll make you laugh, too.

Sites running anti-adblock scripts are starting to piss me off. Particularly because "sites that harass you if you're running adblock" overlaps almost perfectly with "sites that are the reason you're running adblock in the first place."
Let's take Forbes, for example. A couple months ago Forbes was caught serving third-party ads which would attempt to install malware on the users' computer through known security exploits in flash. The moral of that story is one we've known for years - if you are running a website and actually care at all about your users' safety, do not serve third-party flash ads. Flash is an incredibly commonly used vector for malware, criminals have been buying ad-space to deliver malware payloads since the beginning of the fucking internet, put two and two together and stop serving third-party flash ads you negligent fucks!
So reading Forbes without adblock is kind of like fucking a prostitute without a condom - it's the sort of thing that professionals would strongly recommend against doing. And yet, Forbes has adopted the "give adblock users shit" strategy. Hm. No, Forbes, I'm not going to bareback you. I can literally see the sores. Get away from me.

I use noscript to block javascript completely. I get a big lisof all the sites that are serving scripts to the page and can block or unblock them individually. With Forbes, I can unblock the part of the site that serves the adblock checker without unblocking any of the ads.DSMatticus wrote:Sites running anti-adblock scripts are starting to piss me off. Good to hear, man.

He jumps like a damned dragoon, and charges into battle fighting rather insane monsters with little more than his bare hands and rather nasty spell effects conjured up solely through knowledge and the local plantlife. He unerringly knows where his goal lies, he breathes underwater and is untroubled by space travel, seems to have no limits to his actual endurance and favors killing his enemies by driving both boots square into their skull. His agility is unmatched, and his strength legendary, able to fling about a turtle shell big enough to contain a man with enough force to barrel down a near endless path of unfortunates.

It changed when I finally accepted I couldn't outrun my fork like I could 20 years ago and changed what I eat. Currently I'm on a ketogenic diet which seems to help (any side effects I have from that aren't as bad as the side effects from being fat). Still, had a pretty good run, you'd be surprised at how many woman would go for a grilled cheese sandwich if offered.
In this moment, I am Ur-phoric. Not because of any phony god’s blessing. But because, I am enlightened by my int score.
