Not much of a presence at all around here anymore, not that I was ever much of one, but I felt like dropping by and giving the good news because you people have not ceased being awesome, and helped me refine my thinking quite a lot back then. For which I am still rather grateful.

I'm moving to Canada and getting married to my closest friend(who is a guy). I was quite shocked when it just kind of happened, having thought essentially right up to that moment that I was just a more or less heterosexual dude with high standards/a low sex drive/something that made me uninterested in dating or fucking, but shortly after this amazing, surprising, nervous, and slightly confusing experience I stumbled upon some good reading on human sexuality and realized I was a pan-demi(just google demisexual).

So. This is the first thing I've been excited about since I was a kid and I've literally never been happier :)

Peculiar properties of spacetime ensure that the perception of the magnitude of Soon is fluid and dependent, not on an individual's time-reference, but on spatial and cultural location. A marketer generally perceives Soon as a finite, known, yet unspeakable time-interval; to a fan, the interval appears greater, and may in fact approach the infinite, becoming Never. Once the interval has passed, however, a certain time-lensing effect seems to occur, and the time-interval becomes vanishingly small. We therefore see the strange result that the same fragment of spacetime may be observed, in quick succession, as Soon, Never, and All Too Quickly.

Marrying another man is gay.

Congratulations!
He jumps like a damned dragoon, and charges into battle fighting rather insane monsters with little more than his bare hands and rather nasty spell effects conjured up solely through knowledge and the local plantlife. He unerringly knows where his goal lies, he breathes underwater and is untroubled by space travel, seems to have no limits to his actual endurance and favors killing his enemies by driving both boots square into their skull. His agility is unmatched, and his strength legendary, able to fling about a turtle shell big enough to contain a man with enough force to barrel down a near endless path of unfortunates.

Heheh. Thought of that pandemic thing early today. I think it's a pretty good joke.

But yes, thank you all very much for your well wishes.

Back to a previous topic. Never had a facebook, never want to, but I did start a Tumblr a couple weeks ago to keep up with online friends that stopped coming around the usual hangout very often. It's been a good source for news, intelligent discussions(a few of them), and neat stuff since I'm selective with who I follow. I also joined google+ a couple days ago so I could start being a part of Tdarnell's spacefan hangouts, nothing has come of that yet.

On the way home from getting our Christmas tree, a deer jumped in front of the car. It happened so quickly that Ess and Giovanni didn't even see it happen (thank heavens my son didn't watch me hit Bambi). No one was hurt. The car still was able to drive us home, but the damage was just too much for it.

I'm now car hunting. :(
Ack! I am so glad everyone is fine! Car hunting and insurance issues are never fun =(

I don't know you and I don't know where you currently reside, but good for you and congratulations! Long-distance moves are a big deal and can be scary, but life is too short to not to follow your heart!

I hope you're really giving this a lot of thought and soul searching. I'm pretty sure the Bible has important things to say on what you're becoming here.

Hunh. Fuckin-A, I guess not.

Also, possibly relevant.

And congrats. =-)

@Erik- not a cure, just a quarantine process, it basically amounts to a ton of beer and hockey on TV. Possibly some ice fishing. Or ice humping, something with a hole in the ice and long hours of boredom.

Today's my birthday. So far, it's been a good one. What with one thing and another, I ended up at the local Japanese Garden for about forty minutes. Very nice, for as small as it is. Mostly native plants, too.

I screwed up. Read a form wrong. It seems that if I want to go to class this spring, I should have filled out the fafsa by last jan 1, not the upcoming one. Ug, I am so very sick of poverty.

You have until 3/1 to submit a FAFSA for Fall 2013, IIRC.
