HoN has a few good heroes unique to it but the main reason to be playing it is the fact that it does not have turn speed.

Thanks for the input. Been a while since I looked over this class but I figure it is worth revisiting. *I have set the base threshold for Freeze to 0 hp that increases by 4 each level/int mod. *Cold Snap now has a reflex save to negate the damage completely. *Frostrend now gives immunity for 1 minut...

I want to make a mod that makes heat and cold scales a bit less crippling if you have high fire and/or water paths on your starting Pretender. Basically what I have discovered so far is that if a unit has fire resistance 1-4 the heat scale penalty is reduced by 1 and if you have more it is reduced b...

So I've been messing around with Early Age C'tis and Neteret of Many Names. Inspiring Research is an interesting ability and I was wondering how to make best use of it with a maxed out Magic Scale. Obvious path is a lot of cheap mages but not sure if C'tis is the right civilization to make use of th...

Random technologies is nothing new, MoO did it ages ago. However the idea that the direction of technology would also depend on your influence over your society is very interesting and provides a good incentive to use the system. The aim here is to make sure that the system itself is fun and does no...

HoMM VI has me 60 hours in and only done with the Tutorial and almost done with the Undead Campaign, and I fully expect to do at least one more campaign. Total cost: $14.99 because I didn't get Shades of Darkness for another $14.99. Is the story at least any good? I could still see myself getting t...

I quite like warlock actually. I am currently trying to beat the Armaggedon campaign on impossible difficulty. The problem is that the AI tends to build poorly defended cities that get captured by the dremer which makes the whole scenario quickly spiral out of control. The dremer mages are the bigge...

f you want to include Minor items then they slot in without a problem. I found they suffered from the crime of being uninteresting, so I took them out, and if I wanted enemies to have slightly higher stats I just gave them higher stats . If anything removing minor items and just bumping enemy stats...

I completely reject the removal of minor items as a thing that should happen. As a DM it provides me with a way to increase the stats of the humanoid enemies without having to worry about 101 lesser item effects that could potentially be important unless I keep them in mind. Also, why are the rules ...

Once again we have a thread where we try to identify why players play tabletop. Yes we already had threads like this. In any case, if we are talking about a game like D&D, it is meant to cater to goals that usually involve physical opposition, so "winning" here usually means slaying th...

But that's not the same as letting you fail, is it? There are already enough games where almost everyone wins. We call them "all the RPGs on the market." See, I'd read MG as saying that you are permitted to fail and that it doesn't need to end the story. Like most RPGs, there's the one-ro...

Honestly I think that Keyns was probobly the guy with the right idea under the current conditions. The goverment steps in only as much as is needed to equate the playing field but otherwise allows people to seek their fortunes on their own. Mostly to avoid the whole Production/Consumtion imbalance w...

Economic Systems

This is going to be a bit of a long post mainly about the ideas on communism and capitalism. You might want to get yourself something to drink or eat while you read. I just hope I'm not wildly in the wrong here. Currently, the world is strongly dominated by capitalistic ideas and I think there is a ...

Even if we agree on the fact that this is better than any combat feat ever there is still the fact that it won't always be a 'Tome Fighter+' and instead be 'Whatever Tome Martial Classes I Allow In My Games+'.

1) You have a problem with the Tome Fighter that goes beyond this feat.

2) The feat offers diminishing returns the more you take it, so dumping huge amounts of bonus feats into it is not worth it.

Your changes make no sense. You obviously have no experience with the classes or the system so you are just aknowladging the problem by throwing shit at the wall and seeing what sticks. So how about this, I've actually tested this stuff in my game, having had a player play around with both the wilde...
