the original Guild Wars is also something I've enjoyed a lot. The second one is neat, too, although by what I hear for completely different reasons. Big seller: aside from the widely branching personal story missions there are no quests, only events. These are open for participation for everyone, s...

Name-calling is beneath you I hope. Let's at least try to be civil. No harm in that, right? "Psst, hey fella! Over here!" The harsh whisper comes from a man cloaked in ratty rags peeking out from around the corner of an alleyway. He glances left and right before beckoning you closer, urge...

Like people are saying, you don't want a CCG distribution model, because people hate randomized product and you'd be directly competing with Magic and Pokemon.

I'm sure that Mearls sees the division of "math fix" versus "feat tax" differently. If you put it in Basketweaver Notation, you have either: Feat that adds character depth and flavor (read: probably worthless) Ability increase for filthy ROLLplayers (read: "The math just wor...

I'm a bit late to the party, but if we're forming a playgroup I'm willing to jump in on some games. I can fill out whatever role we're missing, though my weakest is ADC.

You know, at first I was thinking that modularity would be a good idea, but now I'm not so sure. They're offloading major important bits to modular rules, and frankly modular rules just do not get supported as well, if at all past the book they're in. They couldn't support addon systems in 3.x, the...

Megaman and Bass monkey boss The monkey may be invincible, but I remember being able to make him stop throwing bombs for a short amount of time by shooting him a few times. Then he slaps his ass and leaps away for a bit. Also playing as Megaman is like 10x harder than playing as Bass. The double-ju...

Thanks, that's really useful. If you don't mind me asking, how come you go 2/7/21 on your tanky jungler mastery page? Honestly, that one's outdated and I haven't used it in a long time, mostly because I don't jungle very often (despite the amount of mastery pages I have for it). It should probably ...

I haven't been playing much recently with the scourge of finals upon me, but when I have been playing I've often ended up getting my shit kicked in by virtue of the fact that I play a lot of support, mainly (okay always) Sona, and I frequently get stuck against Cait/whoever bot lanes. Since my usua...

I love Jayce. If you're able to micro-manage who you're using his REEL AMURRIKIN BESSBALL knockback on, you can contribute pretty well to tactics in teamfights, but that's your biggest contribution other that Muramana autoattacks. The rest of his kit revolves around mobility and poke. As for build, ...

Darius might be a somewhat gold-independent champion but he's not that gold-independent. If you want to play bodyguard for the carries (which is basically what he's good for), you need gold to make yourself a tank so you can survive long enough to actually do your damage (which is backloaded, not f...

Or you can play LeBlanc support and eat enemy champions while letting your ADC free farm... it's a start. Have you ever seen a Darius support? Same idea. It's kind of hilarious. Darius: "YOU'RE GONNA GET ALL THE FARM!" *murders lane opponents* Ezreal: "Please don't hurt me. D:"

He's actually really strong in laning. He's one of the biggest lane bullies out there. Not having any real escapes is a problem, though.

I'm reasonably experienced at the game (currently in Silver V), and I'd be happy to get a playgroup of some kind up. I usually have a group of friends from college that I roll with, but oftentimes we're looking for a 4th/5th.

How about the truenamer from 3.5? You make a skill check with a DC of 10+2*HD of the target. For those unfamiliar you can increase your skill ranks by +1 per level (ish) and the HD of your target is generally nearish your level. you start out unable to fail, and eventually become unable to succeed....

Daggerdale, yes, the abortion of a 4e video game. It didn't actually follow the ruleset to any meaningful degree, so it doesn't really count. I was one of the unfortunate few to actually spend money on that garbage.

The OSR players did seem different from 3.5 players as well. They where more willing to try nonstandard, silly or stupid approaches to common problems. I don't think that's necessarily a difference in the players , just the play style for that game. Personally, when I play a light-hearted, rules-li...

The original vision for the format was "don't win before turn four" and Storm did that pretty consistently. So does infect and they haven't banned any of it's cards. I think the fact that the deck cost less than 100 and was all over mtgo was the main reason that Wizards took it behind the...
