I've played with a few PF dms, and most of them do stuff like ban monks and keep a close eye on paladins because of how overpowered they are. You could run a game based on their ideal level if the party was something like - Paladin - Never mounted, and be wary of him. - Sword and Board fighter 20. D...

Why would you use a/the wiki when there is a compiled source of the actual text? http://tgdmb.com/viewtopic.php?t=48453 Anyway, the actual text also says its destroyed. I play in a game regularly The system is terrible because of the skills where a D4 is better than a d6 often. This is something that should be obvious at first glance and shouldn't have made it past editing. Where a non game designer fixes it because it looks like a typo. The system is terrible beca...

Reading that leak it seems ... boring. Like I have been assuming most of what was said for a while now. "mostly 3.5, essentials hybrid." I seriously think I could have come up with everything "leaked". Con HP at first level, 3e multiclassing, same stats as always. I don't know th...

There is stupid idea floating around the WoTC boards recently that you have 2 "hand slots". Meaning, your left and right hand count as different weapons. Kicks and headbutts are illegal or must be assigned to a "hand slot" depending on who you ask. Came about as a result of sugge...

I think a better gem from him in that thread is just a bit before that comment. Where he insists they won't publish anything better than amulets of might fists, because he doesn't want to invalidate anything in core rulebook. Due to power creep. He then goes on a bit later to quote montes "the ...

Im at the point where I'm fine with calling out twilights vampires as a legit vampire. I mean, the stories are terrible, but they are super popular which is a good thing for DND to leech off. Plus every vampire in the setting aside from edward was actually interesting, she just followed the boring e...

Read the comments for that first one. Guy got in trouble with SKR for using copyright images. Seems like he has a solid well thought out project. I'm pretty sure that the sum total of the rants I've heard in person about spell preparation being too complicated adds up to about two sentences. i know plenty of people who say that its too much of a pain in the ass, and they will play a ___ instead. Oftentimes sorcerer/warlock. If its a one shot...

I've mentioned this several times going back pretty much to when this debate has started that this has never been about whether or not these things exist at all but whether or not they are actually any kind of prevalent, and no, one example which most of the target audience will not be familiar wit...

Re: excluded

Whelp, I pulled up my old WotC account to start posting some, so I suspect you'll get a small sampling of the 3.x hold outs right off, if only out of curiosity. It was rather disconcerting to see that no other posters seem to be from noticeably before 4e time though. Coincidentally it took me sever...

I've seen plenty of DMs do it. I'm playing under one currently and it isn't awful because he is a fun dude. It would be better if he didn't, but I deal. The game isn't fun, the group is. I see it come into play most when its "I don't want them to succeed at this, but they rolled dice". So ...

Indie games have less budget and tend to be smaller. For whatever reason this lets them get away with more "The DM can fix it at his game" or "Well true role players wouldn't do that" style rules.

Those rules always produce a shitty system.

There really is a dearth of high level material in the source. Don't be stupid. You said I assume when someone complains about the source material not ...

Star Wars - I was thinking EU, but the emperor does know how to create life as stated in the movies. I don't e...

I assume when someone complains about the source material not supporting something, they mean "Peter Jacksons Lord ofthe Rings movies".

To that extent, i agree. High level dnd does not support aragorn, legolas, gimli or frodo.

Paladin doesn't slay vampire because he is bound to her family ala helsing. They make him do good stuff and don't let him eat people, but if she isn't around he probably would. Girl is stereotypical good person, maybe even on the border of naive.

They use guitars to strike awesome poses and cut spaceships in half (with guitar swords) while their music plays. Watch...
