So, there's no moderators, right?
I'm 95% sure this site isn't moderated anymore.

That would explain the spam bot threads still being there a week later.

If you use Report Post, it gets looked at. I don't know that anyone has reported them.

Usually when I do that I find it's already been reported, and right now is no exception.

They're all reported. But I'm pretty sure nobody is reading the reports.

Re: So, there's no moderators, right?
We have many longtime members. Could some of us be given moderator status to ban the bots n delete their threads? I don’t post often anymore but I don’t want to see the place overrun by spambots.
Re: So, there's no moderators, right?
I think the problem is a mod would have to sign in to do that and right now we have no idea how long that will be of ever.
I agree that I want to preserve this place, even if it's use is drastically reduced or even everyone stops posting.

I'm not even super convinced the place is useful as an archive in its current state - consistently if I go back to reread an OSSR, it's had multiple images break in a way that ruins the whole experience.

Re: So, there's no moderators, right?
There's a lot of text posts that I use as references still. Might need to start archiving them somewhere else.

Time for fbmf to make that archive available, I think.

Agreed, I got a dump of threads a little while back and it's nice to have them but it's a little clunky.

Re: So, there's no moderators, right?
I spoke to the Great Fencebuilder via PM. His work blocks access to this site and his home computer has been unwell for the last couple of months. It sounds like he's willing to give me the tools to delete the spam threads, but with the issues he has I'm not sure how quickly the turn around on that will be. His message to me was on the 6th and I responded on the 8th. Could be the soonest would be this weekend...

That would be nice. Sucks about both those things, but better then some of the worst case scenarios I was imagining in my head.

Sorry for the delay. I've caught up on the reported posts as of now. DEADDM, check your PMs if you have not already. Congrats, my brother: You're a Moderator.

I deleted the spam threads that had been reported. It looks like that got all of them. I'll need some time to become familiar with the tools, but I've done moderation before and the tools all seem pretty intuitive.

Re: So, there's no moderators, right?
I'm back after a three-year band project leading to two solo albums leading to electronic music contract work this year, but not after two near death ER experiences with alcohol and a staph infection FROM one ER stay that led to two months of terrible reaction between anxiety meds and antibiotics (I'm considering suing the hospital that I got the infection from since I was blind in one eye for months) but now I'm sober and healthy and just had to come back and discuss TTRPG design with y'all. The Adventurer's Almanac wrote: ↑Wed Jan 10, 2024 7:29 pmWonder where everyone drifted away to. Glad the TGD is still here.

Thanks Kaelik, it's good to be among other nerds in rational TTRPG discourse again.
