Doesn't sound like much fun to me though . . completely arbitrary is seldom a good thing . .

TFwiki wrote:Soon is the name of the region in the time-domain (familiar to all marketing departments, and to the moderators and staff of Fun Publications) which sees release of all BotCon news, club exclusives, and other fan desirables. Soon is when then will become now.

Peculiar properties of spacetime ensure that the perception of the magnitude of Soon is fluid and dependent, not on an individual's time-reference, but on spatial and cultural location. A marketer generally perceives Soon as a finite, known, yet unspeakable time-interval; to a fan, the interval appears greater, and may in fact approach the infinite, becoming Never. Once the interval has passed, however, a certain time-lensing effect seems to occur, and the time-interval becomes vanishingly small. We therefore see the strange result that the same fragment of spacetime may be observed, in quick succession, as Soon, Never, and All Too Quickly.

I like random generation but I think I'll keep my random generation and my Shadowrun separate. Shadowrun is (to me) all about carefully planning to defeat an organized security system.

I do like the gray goo nanodungeon idea just not in my SR.
For a minute, I used to be "a guy" in the TTRPG "industry". Now I'm just a nobody. For the most part, it's a relief.

And you'd play each level with a Final Fntasy Tactics style set of "laws" in place about what equipment you had to use and what abilities were off limits, and if you broke those laws you would explode into red mist and have to make a new character.
Do want. Do you take requests?
If you were going to do that, I think it would work best as a card and board game. The board would be dealt out as tiles that would be like mini Robo Rally segments. And each map would have have nanite cards drawn for it that would determine the "Laws". These in turn would come in three flavors:
  • Disassemblers (Red) These have rules like "No Touching" (no HtH combat) or "No Lunatech" (no using Moon cards). Violate a Red Law, and your character dies.
  • Screamers (Yellow) These have similar rules to the Disassemblers, but if you violate the rules you just pull another enemy robot tile from the cup.
  • Producers (Blue) These have some category of stuff on them. Every time you get a chance for stuff, it is expressed as some number of draws. You get all the stuff that matches any of the Producer nanites in this factory.
And of course, you could expand that with other kinds of nanites like "Juicers (Orange)" where the player takes a bunch of damage when they break the rule, or "Counters ((Purple)" that get a token every time you break the rule, and when they get to some number (probably 1 per player), everyone loses.

Then you'd hand out an Arkham style character card to each player, and away you go. You know, something like what I made for LA Horror:

Everyone gets a personal victory card and unless someone gets the computer core out, everyone loses. So it's co-op, but people also have personal win/lose conditions. Which are secret, so you can have traitors.
