It's why Order costs points and Misfortune gives you points. Frankly, I don't think Misfortune 3 is worth it, the scale of the high end disasters is simply too big. I mean, uprisings of 100+ Barbarians set you back a lot of gold and gems.

Yeah, but they still happen even with Order and without Misfortune .

But not as much, because that is what misfortune does. 100+ barbarians isn't even the worst thing about M3. I usually go no lower than M1, but I really like L1 for the gems and sometimes heroes. They're a huge boost, especially if you need them for diversity. They're a great way to get started spell-searching for the paths your casters have but your capsites don't produce gems in.
Carthacia is aware of your expansion. Carthacia only has an interest in protecting it's borders, irregardless of their current, independant status. Feel free to discuss borders, trade or other diplomacy.
Amusingly, I suspect Sachs might have been the nation best-positioned to take these sorts of calamities. Our expansion plan is still going mostly as planned.
The impact of bad events seems to be magnified in early turns, especially as I am almost always in a resource deficit. They are still a pain, later in the game, but a lot more tolerable what they happen later, rather than sooner.

No. He took Turn 2 and Turn 1. He staled Turn 3. During Turn 2 he captured a province and put a Star Spawn to researching. He's actually Research and Dominion leader, so even though a stale on turn 3 is a big deal, he's not out by any means.
Not looking good, do we restart without him if he stalls again?
(Tried to call him the whole day, not responding...)
I'm really, really anoyed with him.

I mean, I'm pretty sure the Mayans had a prophecy about what would happen if Frank and PL ever agreed on something. PL will argue with Frank that the sky is blue or grass is green, so when they both separately piss on your idea that is definitely something to think about.
