Mechwarrior - Destiny

Post by Stahlseele »

Appearantly, that one completely passed me by somehow . .

Is it actually playable, or is it as bad as A Time Of War was?
Has it been dumbed down too much?
Is it completely bonkers broken bullshit?

Anybody have an informed opinion of it?

Peculiar properties of spacetime ensure that the perception of the magnitude of Soon is fluid and dependent, not on an individual's time-reference, but on spatial and cultural location. A marketer generally perceives Soon as a finite, known, yet unspeakable time-interval; to a fan, the interval appears greater, and may in fact approach the infinite, becoming Never. Once the interval has passed, however, a certain time-lensing effect seems to occur, and the time-interval becomes vanishingly small. We therefore see the strange result that the same fragment of spacetime may be observed, in quick succession, as Soon, Never, and All Too Quickly.

Having 'aquired' a copy of the book, i find myself thinking that it is, at the very least, way more playable and especially the character generation does not require a maths degree anymore . .
Compared to A Time Of War it has been severely dumbed down, but that STILL MAKES IT MORE PLAYABLE THAN ATOW!
Of course, trying to to actual VEHICULAR COMBAT with it is still a folly and should instead be done in MegaMek or the CBT TableTop Board Game . .
