So, while I guess this is more of a Kickstarter shilling type item, I figure crossposting here where things aren't about IRL shitstorms seems like it'd get more eyes.

So, I launched a crowdfunding campaign for my 2nd ever product release!

Sometimes it's best to think of what going to the tavern really means in a game. Spirits & Songs is a tavern focused book with new sub-classes, expanded rules, and recipes for food and cocktails and 19 new taverns to explore.

I've managed to get Ed Greenwood and Chamomile on board, as well as industry veteran Simeon Cogswell who as worked on various RPG lines in layout and typesetting.

I think it's pretty rad, and all recipes for food and drink will be tested. It's half game supplement and half cookbook, so I think it brings good value to your bookshelf.

Check it out here.

Neat, what's Ed Greenwood doing?

Gotta say I like the idea. If I wasn't currently feeding my kids with the damn dole I'd chip in a bit.

Small note: your pitch video's music credit is botched. The letterbox cuts off the text.

Ed is doing at least one tavern, and some magic items along with a Tome style "Adventure in..." with the usual 3 tiers.

His first one is 95% done, and it includes 2 food recipes and 1 signature drink. I've tested one dish, a mushroom and cheese tart and it was delicious.

Unfortunately, I think I am going to have to cancel the campaign and restart it later in the year, for the reasons Zaranthan says. It's frustrating, but it'll give me time to make things more polished.

If/when I do, I'll announce it and make some sort of perk for the people that tried to back this time when the new one happens, with an email list.

I recall Fantasycraft/Spycraft had rules for eating and drinking tea to reduce stress, but that system got too fiddly for me to remember exactly what everything does.

Cooking is a flavorful image for adventurers camping out in the wilderness, there's also a rule that any crowd funding with a camp fire in the video and promo photos gets way more funds than the creators expected.

People also find images of toasty food and drink more attractive during winter. It would be interesting to see if seasons/climate affect different sorts of kickstarters. Like if summer time would be a better time for a kickstarter where dorfs frolic on the beach or something.

I really like how the food looks in Dragon's Crown:

If you ask me, I'm not sure moving the campaign for later will help. If anything, tomorrow will be worse.

Any suggestions for improvement then? I can try and fix the video; did that on the pared-down Twitter video. I do need to figure something for international shipping; the EU seems like a pain in the ass from what others tell me.

Hey. So, last day before the campaign ends, though we do have In-Demand funding afterward. If we can hit at least $1000 before this ends, I can pay for the three taverns we have 90% done.

If we don't... I can get only 2 taverns covered, unfortunately. We'll still be including recipes, cocktails, spells and the two done-subclasses plus some new monsters and construct creations, but it'd mean only the three finished taverns at current funds.

But, if we do hit the $1000 minimum then that opens some doors. We can keep accepting donations for at least a month after the formal end of the campaign, which means we can still possibly hit the ideal goal.

So I need you to please share the campaign, or tell your friends, or even increase to a higher tier of pledge. Every dollar counts, and I want to make sure we produce the best product we can. Remember, at higher level pledges you can have an NPC of your creation inserted to a tavern.
