Squinting at Margo the Medium's spidery handwriting, they can make out that one of them is a spell of that causes foes to fall asleep, another summons phantasmal forces, another to dispel enchantments, to remove curses, animate the dead, and call and dismiss storms.

I suppose subtly altering some of the spells is out of the question, so hand the book over, I guess.

Back at Room 15
Gorman and Urlik stand before the enthroned Enchanter.

"Pissants!" the magic-user wheezes. "Give me the book!"

Gorman bleats to the effect of "Brah, we brought you your book, you don't need to be so rude. Chill out and eat a fucking sandwich."

I would suggest we not talk back to the being who holds the key to turning Gorman back to normal. Just quietly give the Enchanter the book.

Seconded the 'not trash-talking the guy who MADE US A GOAT in the first place' plan. Deliver book, hope to get hands back at least :D.

Gorman flicks his head, and Urlik reluctantly strides forward and hands the book into the eager hands of the seated figure.

"Ah...excellent. You may make a useful servant yet." He waves his hand dismissively. Gorman feels the world go wrong for a moment, and then with a gasp he realizes he feels the cold, dressed stones of the dungeon floors beneath his fingers. A little awkwardly, the dwarf stands. The whole bipedal thing feels a bit unnatural after being an ungulate. "You may go now."

Question: How much sick l00t™ has Gorman acquired so far? And how much would it be to afford a wicked swank wedding between Gorman and Urlik?

I count 4,133 GP worth of assorted currency. Probably round that down to 4000 to account for conversion rates on the gems.

Which I don't think covers the cost of a self resetting Create Food and Water trap, or more seriously the lifetime food costs of a dwarf and troll.

We could steal the werebears pants while he is asleep, and leave a note claiming to be from the enchanter and mocking his pantslessness. Or possibly some other not terrible idea.

That is in absolutely no way a terrible idea! Except in the 'likelihood of face being torn off' respect, anyway ;D. Are Were-beasties generally hostile in this edition? Or would we be likely to have a reasonable shot of adding the Werebear to our monstrous regiment?

I do not think that any love can be as pure as Urlik and Gorman's love. That being said, IIRC werebears are supposed to be nice in D&D so we might be able to befriend it.

Back on Level 2
Instead of investigating any of the unexplored areas of Level 1, Gorman and Urlik find themselves back down in Level 2, staring at the furry, sleeping heap. It does not appear to have moved, although it seems slightly smaller than when Gorman was a goat.

Oh, right, totally forgot about this. We could try sneaking past the bear, in the hope that if we run into anything scary, we can run away and have it get run into the bear.

Similar to the two guys and the slowest one gets eaten by the bear except the bear is one of the guys and the other bear is a yet unknown monster.

If you're going to rob it while it's sleeping, it's only proper to stab it to death first. Also, it keeps you from waking it up accidentally.

But yeah, I guess if the troll says it's cool, we can let it live instead.

Ok, asking the troll seems wisest.

Is all of the coinage piled up at floor 1? If so I'd want to carry the platinum coin and some gold on the dwarfperson for bribing purposes

This excursion into the Tomb of Xagyg must be suspended as I have misplaced my copy of the rules. We will resume when and if I can sort through the boxes of shit I was packing and find it again.
