Nintendo Switch IR sensor, what to do with it?

Post by OgreBattle »

So 1 2 Switch has an eating game with it where it detects your mouth opening and closing. The Switch trailers mentioned detecting hand distance and shape for rock paper scisossrs.

Resident Evil Revelations uses it to reload, you bump the switch against your other hand to simulate putting in a magazine. That's cool.

I haven't seen much else used for it with games.

For Labo though it's a key part in detecting movement in various games which is super cool: https://labo.nintendo.com/developer-int ... on-camera/ but that's not a 'normal' game function.

None of the (eight) games I have use it. I think Nintendo just puts the sensor there because the Infravision gods demand it.
