Yeah, true. I want to emphasize that what I stated was internal claimed logic, from my background, not actual root reasons, which are, as Omegonthesane pointed out, massive, massive levels of misogyny.

One can always willfully chose to be evil.

It is amazingly freeing.

sendaz wrote:Question, how often are abortions really happening now in the setting?

From what I gather from reading this book no more or less (leaning towards less) than what is going on now.
I mean they mention curing most of the genetic disorders/STDs/etc yet they haven't added a switch to toggle on/off the reproductive system so that a girl could actually control whether she even gets pregnant in the first place or not.
How should I describe this...in Chris Fields's books all roads lead to more sex. So if you have a question about the setting which ever one would lead to more sex that is the one that is more likely to be the case.
On one hand, that should mean easy birth control.

On the other hand, pregnancy fetish. So the most likely choice is single-day gestation combined with robot nannies that raise your thousands of children for you.

I still don't get how the Lifers are being oppressed in this setting. are they excluded from the workforce, or something?

I haven't gotten to that part yet, we are only 10 pages in the book.

Having done the entire journey: there is no payoff. Many, MANY more questions will arise. Few will be answered in any way satisfactorily.

I'm not sure it's a minority. Speaking purely as a matter of institutions, it's very difficult to find groups which condemn abortion while working to protect access in the typical extreme cases. Instead, you get shit like "if it's a legitimate rape the body has ways to shut that whole thing down" and "rape is just god's way of putting a precious little baby in your vagina and you should be grateful" in order to downplay their importance, and also concern trolling about how while it's technically "okay" for someone in those cases to seek abortion it actually needs to be prohibitively difficult because otherwise people will "abuse" it.

I'm pretty sure pro-lifers only concede the extreme cases in order to seem reasonable while actively working to undermine them because misogyny.

Since this book is legitimately free, I just downloaded a copy from Drivethrough RPG.

Hey, just no spoilers okay. It's fine to add to parts I've already covered.

This is turning into quite the Den bonding experience.

I don't even drink, but I feel like a double shot of something after reading this a while.
He jumps like a damned dragoon, and charges into battle fighting rather insane monsters with little more than his bare hands and rather nasty spell effects conjured up solely through knowledge and the local plantlife. He unerringly knows where his goal lies, he breathes underwater and is untroubled by space travel, seems to have no limits to his actual endurance and favors killing his enemies by driving both boots square into their skull. His agility is unmatched, and his strength legendary, able to fling about a turtle shell big enough to contain a man with enough force to barrel down a near endless path of unfortunates.

--The horror of Mario

Zak S, Zak Smith, Dndwithpornstars, Zak Sabbath. He is a terrible person and a hack at writing and art. His cultural contributions are less than Justin Bieber's, and he's a shitmuffin. Go go gadget Googlebomb!

the formatting of this PDF is atrocious. pretty sure even I could do a better job, mostly because I would never hand in something so misaligned, even if I couldn't do it better on my own.

Also love the "drawing" of the woman holding a "I regret my abortion" sign. I guess I was right with guessing "having a choice is oppression" for the Lifers... I will not read this thing, so I will not spoil anything not yet covered in this thread.

I'm actually surprised that there is so little focus on sex. From your description, I'd have thought that the setting was just a thingy veiled excuse plot for a bad fetish porn game. It is not. It's so much more absurd than that.

That would be Black Tokyo and its supplements which I will cover after this book.

The description of the supplement is that the Abortion War changed everything. One thing you need to know about me: I am generally not phased by lots of sex talk and descriptions, no matter how depraved. I just look at the mechanics and logical consistency of the product. I've seen reviews of this get so hung up on the sex and abortion debate and forget to look at the how all the shit will function as a game. I judge fluff as fluff and crunch as crunch.

Yes there is a lot of absurdity besides the sex. I just want everyone have fun with a poorly made product.

There is no editor for the product. Well actually Chris is the editor, but didn't say so as credit.

does this setting have magic? because I found something that makes you immune to non-magical heat and cold, and also non- magical disease and poison. or is that just an artifact from d20 modern that got copy pasted?

That question will be answered I guarantee that. Just wait a bit.

That is uncannily like what I would expect if you commissioned parody art from Koumei but paid only in cheap rum.

Wait, is that actual 'art' from the book?

Even Palladium does better than that. Hell, you can slip some fucker on deviantart a fiver and get better than _much_ better than that trash.

Those pieces were drawn by the writer. There are other bits of art but they are from stock picture/drawing collections.

I was late to the party, and in typical erik fashion read this thread in reverse. I thought your response was some sort of snark. Oh em gee. This review made me squeal like a school girl.
