Are we talking literal wands, or something figurative ala https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suit_of_wands ?

Literal wands.

Okay, but you should still use Steampunk Cthulhu tarot cards as chapter art.

Slow down. I said I'd write an RPG, I didn't say I'd do art and layout.

So the finished product is going to be six different Word files with page order scrambled and everything written in Wingdings?

Don't tempt me. I think we're on about 70 pages now in GoogleDocs.

Well I guess that might cover the Mythos portion of the assignment...

C'mahn, it'll be fun!

... why aren't the URL tags working?

I
Tentacle from gate, instead of hand from cloud.

Means invention, so works for chapter I.

II
Figure is a myconoid instead of a human.

Means exploration, so works for description of the game world.

III
Make the guy steam punk? Put some tentacles and stuff in the water?

Means beginning a mission, so works for character generation.

IV
The building in the background has impossible angles, the structure in the foreground is steampunk.

This means homecoming and the like, so not sure what should be chapter IV. Non-combat adventures in human civilization, something like that?

V
Just make the five people fighting steam punk and/or degenerate mutants.

Obviously this would be the combat chapter.

VI
Mount him on a byakhee.

This would be the advancement chapter.

VII
Just make it all steam punk.

Long term success = running a campaign. Easy.

VIII
Again, it's eight steam punk wands.

News and information = how to get the party assembled for an individual mission? Sorta outa order with how to run campaigns...

IX
Make the dude a steam punk cyborg.

Healing and recovering from adventures; stuff to do with your downtime?

X
Turn the dude into a Cthulhu-thing.

"overload and burdening situations where too much responsibility has been taken on by the subject." -> This would be the DM chapter on how to design and run individual adventures.

Appendix on character skills and abilities.

Appendix on equipment.

Appendix on magic spells.

Appendix on monsters.

The url tags can't handle parantheses. You need to replace them with text equivalents %28 for open parantheses and %29 for closed parantheses.

First draft of Combat is done (minus the combat example). 38.4k

I'm going to open the floor up to comments at this point, because most of the key mechanics (except for wand functions) are out there, and if I need to make changes it's better to do that sooner than later.

No comments on rules yet, still reading, but I did find a minor typo. Either 'but' is an extra word, or there was another word after it at some point.
The first colonists to Venus were unprepared for the migration of the plasma-entities from Sol, which occur according to irregular cycles, or the various higher-dimensional entities and energy-creatures left locked in the Old Ones’ invisible prisons, only to be released by well-meaning but researchers searching for power crystals and ancient knowledge.
Edit: Another minor one. The red text was probably intended to read "heavily customized" or "heavy customization" I think.
Among other Rangers, Torchmen are usually marked out by heavily customization of their wands, and the curious fractal burn-scars on their hands and arms from excessive orgone exposure.
Another one. Piece to peace.
Fortunately, it responded well to anti-fungal treatments, and the trade in this cure has been the basis of ongoing piece with the majority of the Aihai.

Step 4: Specialize
All Rangers are unique, and take particular pride in their skills and equipment, particularly their wand. Players may select and two of the following to specialize their character:
The wand rules don't exist yet, so this is speculative, but assuming that the mechanics match the fluff I don't think that Visualization being a Perception skill is a good design decision. It's that one skill you use to do your best combat stuff and also that one skill you use to do all of your out of combat wizard shit, it's something that everyone is going to want the best dicepool they can manage for. That's not a huge balance problem since people can use Certs to switch it to their best stat so even low-perception characters can access some wizard shit, but it's pretty inelegant. The game might work better if you just used your best attribute for wizarding by default and there was some other perception skill filling in the slot.

I read through the rest of the lore, and didn't see any more obvious typos, not saying I didn't miss any, but I didn't see any. Don't have time to read the rules tonight, but I really enjoyed the lore. It's obviously not as thorough as an expansion about a specific locale or a preconstructed adventure would be, but for the core rulebook I liked it a lot.

Didn't have time to read the rules tonight, but will later this week.
