NSFW News That Makes You Laugh/Cry/Hurl/etc.
I felt that I wanted to share this, but I didn't want to bomb the established news threads, and it occurred to me that having a NSFW News thread might be a good way to avoid this problem in the future while giving anyone that wants to discuss or share this sort of thing the opportunity.
With that said, I give you:

Silicone eggs would be very dangerous due to the fact that, unlike Gelaton, they don't melt.Nebuchadnezzar wrote:Aesthetic considerations notwithstanding, the demonstration video shows the device to be perhaps better suited as a sheath to be fitted over a modified poultry baster. Plus the dude is totally missing out on shilling personalized nymphs placed within silicon eggs in lieu of playing with gelatin.
There's nothign quite as empbarassing as having to go to the ER to get something fishes out of your butt or vajayjay.

I wonder if this can be combined with the increasingly-recognized practice of infesting yourself with parasites to rein in allergic immune systems.
How in the world do people develop this fetish? Is it just an outgrowth of transmuting fear and disgust into arousal?

Fun fact: the limbic system has about four response states, famously mnemonicked as feeding, fighting, fleeing, and reproduction; each requires a lot of interpretation from higher brain systems to be made specific to circumstances. So it's fairly easy to switch from one sort of emotional activation to another.
Which is why the "slap slap kiss kiss" trope exists, and why quite a few fetishes came into existence. You can displace one set of emotional states into another with just a little work.

A "fetish" is basically anything that a small subset of the population finds sexually arousing, but the general population does not. The behavioral and brain chemical mechanisms that lead to the development of fetishes are not understood - although many theorize that a lot of fetishes have to do with various forms of power and control.Occluded Sun wrote: How in the world do people develop this fetish?
So basically anything that you personally do not find arousing is potentially a fetish for someone out there which you will just find baffling.
"But transportation issues are social-justice issues. The toll of bad transit policies and worse infrastructure—trains and buses that don’t run well and badly serve low-income neighborhoods, vehicular traffic that pollutes the environment and endangers the lives of cyclists and pedestrians—is borne disproportionately by black and brown communities."

No, I can grasp how people can have powerful responses to specific sexual signals in ways that don't match the relative responses of others. But fetishes that are utterly non-sexual in themselves are generally best understood by one form of arousal getting mixed up with another.Josh_Kablack wrote:So basically anything that you personally do not find arousing is potentially a fetish for someone out there which you will just find baffling.

I see two probable descents. The first is simple xenophilia. Some people find foreign accents and such sexy; some people turn it up to 11. The second is miscegenation taboo. A lot of people still get a transgression thrill from interracial sex; some people turn it up to 11.Occluded Sun wrote:How in the world do people develop this fetish?

Oviposition isn't a terribly complicated fetish; it's a subset of impregnation/pregnancy fetish - goes back to at least the B-grade sci-fi movie Galaxy of Terror, but you can see the clear parallels to "normal" impregnation, with both the penetration and the concept of putting something in you. The taboo aspect - the transgressive bit that puts it over the line from normal sexual interest to a fetish - can vary a little. There is the whole "human biology doesn't work that way" (which gets into aliens, giant insects, mpreg, anal birth, etc.) There is the size factor. "Birth" re-enactment. And there's the variation on anal play, which can still be pretty taboo. It's a pretty staple trope of erotic fanfiction and art, where little things like physical realities and limits can give way to elaborate fantasies.

Tentacle porn - aside from the tentacles - is really pretty simple, and it's the exact same script you'd find in lots of monster-free hentai; guy rapes girl until she likes it, girl loses all autonomy and becomes a sex object (impregnation, if it occurs, is an aspect of this). Once you understand why that fantasy appeals to people*, it becomes pretty obvious why the rapist doesn't actually have to be a human - and it might even be better if it isn't, depending on the individual consumer's squick factor.
*Spoiler: they're beating it to the woman's degradation and loss of control; it's porn explicitly about disempowerment and objectification. I'm not saying that to be judgmental, mind. Fantasies are not real and do not actually have victims, so whatever floats your boat, provided your boat continues to respect international maritime law.

Yeah, tentacle porn as the internet knows and loves it exists because Toshio Maeda decided he wanted to make rape horror and body horror sexy, and someone somewhere had the balls to claim that not every semen-spewing phallic tube was a penis, and that therefore not all semen-spewing phallic tubes were subject to censorship laws, so fuck it instead of demon rape we'll have demon tentacle rape.
His works do not really fit the mold I describe. They're a lot more "what if someone wrote Alien as a dark and gross porn comedy?" Remember, this was the 80's. Pushing boundaries - sometimes tactfully, sometimes crudely - was what everyone in horror wanted to do. Even in Japan; this is the same decade that gave us Berserk, after all.
EDIT: It occurs to me I gave zero explanation for how I went from oviposition to tentacle porn, and that I should elaborate on why I made that jump. The only time I've heard of sexualized depictions of "impregnation by egg-laying penis tube" being a thing is in tentacle porn. Classically (i.e. from its inception in the mid 80's until sometime in the 90's, fuck if I know), tentacle porn was basically just sexualized body horror. I have no idea how sexualized body horror became a thing, but I imagine it's the same reason the first murder in a slasher flick always happens to someone topless and/or fucking. For some reason sexy + gross is just an entertainment recipe that came to be, don't ask me how or why. But modern tentacle porn is largely a part of the "rape and degrade" sector of Japan's hentai industry, in which impregnation is just another way that the woman has completely lost control of what's happening to her (with disastrous consequences).

I'd say that's not as true these days, just because of how ingrained tentacle porn has become in hentai. Just the existence of tentacle girls (cute or otherwise), corruption, and consentacles has made it less likely that any given story will be your typical mind break 'all girls are sluts' ordeal.DSMatticus wrote:But modern tentacle porn is largely a part of the "rape and degrade" sector of Japan's hentai industry, in which impregnation is just another way that the woman has completely lost control of what's happening to her (with disastrous consequences).

The rope is important, but should be made of solid silicone both to reduce chafing and for easier sterilization. A braided nylon rope like that is going to be a bacteria magnet.Prak wrote:Well, there are these too-Nebuchadnezzar wrote:Aesthetic considerations notwithstanding, the demonstration video shows the device to be perhaps better suited as a sheath to be fitted over a modified poultry baster. I am of the opinion that once you start to analyze porn, it stops being porn.
Because it's porn. It doesn't need to be deconstructed and analyzed. If it can bring you to a climax, then it's done it's job.

Yeah, but... do you really need to understand porn? It's entire purpose is literally to make people whack off. I don't think you need to get any deeper than that. Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar, an' all that.
I dunno. It's probably just me that feels this way.
