Correct that.
Ocarina of Time or Twilight Princess first.

The only LoZelda games I've played in full are Oracles of Ages/Seasons.

I've played the original, Link to the Past, Link's Awaking, the Oracle games, Minish Cap ,Majora's Mask, and 4 swords. I only beat the 4 swords, Oracle games and Minish.

I've beaten all of the 3D Zeldas except for Skyward Sword.
Majora's Mask is really, really good. If you've got a 3DS, go for it. Ocarina of Time would be a good one, too. Ocarina of Time is the 'classic' 3D Zelda. Majora's Mask, though...Well. It's one of the games I find myself returning to over the years, like Quest for Glory, and that's the honest truth. Replaying the same three days, seeing how stuff plays out with the various choices, the challenge of it (and believe me, it can be a damn hard game in places.)

He jumps like a damned dragoon, and charges into battle fighting rather insane monsters with little more than his bare hands and rather nasty spell effects conjured up solely through knowledge and the local plantlife. He unerringly knows where his goal lies, he breathes underwater and is untroubled by space travel, seems to have no limits to his actual endurance and favors killing his enemies by driving both boots square into their skull. His agility is unmatched, and his strength legendary, able to fling about a turtle shell big enough to contain a man with enough force to barrel down a near endless path of unfortunates.

I might play some more Zelda games, especially now that I have a game controller for my computer so roms are easier to play, but I would have to be paid or receiving the most amazing oral ever to play Windwaker.

A Link to the Past is one of only two SNES games I've ever completed.

I've actually just been replaying Ocarina of Time on my old N64. I dunno how it would be going over if I had not played it a bunch during my more formative years, but, given that I did, the only thing I'm finding to be super clunky is the targeting system. As far as "games that show you what games should try to be" go, I've always preferred Deus Ex, but Ocarina is an undeniably great game.
Out beyond the hull, mucoid strings of non-baryonic matter streamed past like Christ's blood in the firmament.
Wind Waker may well be a great game, but it's art is fucking terrible

Beat A Link to the Past, played but never owned the original Legend of Zelda, never got past the Spirit Temple in Ocarina of Time, beat Twilight Princess and its hundred level fight dungeon. Never played any others.

I'll second that. Majora's Mask is possibly the most unique Zelda game. The best part of the game is possibly the atmosphere. The world is ending in three (in game) days and you have to groundhog's day your way through those days to find out how to stop it. The NPCs have schedules and do different things depending on which day and what time it is. As the third day and the end of the world approaches they are all forced to deal with the end of the world and respond in different ways.Maxus wrote:Majora's Mask is really, really good. Majora's Mask is one of the most unusual and unique games I've played - it's Zelda, obviously, but with enough change in gameplay and focus that it doesn't feel like a rehash the way, say, Twilight Princess did. As a sidequest hog, having less dungeons but more freedom to explore (and repeat certain quests) was actually a bonus. hat's interesting with Majora's Mask for me is how it's such a contradiction of itself - the scenery is mostly bright and colorful with the added childlike touch here and there that makes it seem dreamlike (nightmares or good dreams being entirely dependent on which area you're actually in) and yet, well, you're in a place that's essentially facing Armageddon. The people are quirky and have plenty of personality, but most of them are really facing some kind of serious crisis, if not dealing with the death (or potential death) of someone close to them. The game doesn't shy away from darkness, especially the psychological side (pick a scene. think about it for a day. FREAK OUT) but it's never to a point of straight-up desperation. Unless you let the three days run out...
Of all the Zelda games, I'd say Majora's Mask has the strongest story, and perhaps the most to offer on replays. Ironically I was MORE impressed - and terrified, and moved - playing it ten years later. Just keep the lights on.
I've been replaying the Oracle games currently. Might take a look at Link to the Past, and maybe get Majora's Mask 3D and Link between worlds.

I've played a few Zelda games but never got very into them. I haven't tried to revisit them in a while.
I'm very confused about why there were so many sequels to FF 13. I hated FF 13 so much that the mere mention of their being a 13 - 2 felt like an insult from the company directly to me. I didn't like the FF7 add-ons either but I could at least understand that the characters from it were so damn popular and still talked about that it would warrant a few money grabs but I can't imagine there being a significant number of fans to FF 13.
As for my own confession I do not like Ghost in the Shell. I've probably seen a lot of it between Toonami and gushing friends but I do not find the series, or its characters, enjoyable.

Absolutely play a Link to the Past. It's the Zelda game that keeps that delicious free-roaming feel without leaving you completely clueless. If you're going to get into Zelda, that's the game to do it (but if you want 3D start with twilight princess I guess).
My confession: I've never played GTA and every time I see somebody playing it I scratch my head and wonder what all the fuss is about (the same goes for all sandbox shooters like that one with the hookshot thing [Uncharted?]). I also couldn't get into the Elder Scrolls games, but I did at least try Morrowind for a bit.

If FF is confession worthy I probably qualify, because I've played FF I and II, but no others.

Wind Waker is, from what I've heard, a fun game... until you get to Tingle, who immediately makes life sad.
Play Link's Awakening. It is EPIC. You get to walk a Chain Chomp!
Hyrule Warriors is also awesome, even though it's spin-off. Lots and lots of nods to the series and the fans.
