Yeah. Incidentally, I updated the Backgrounds/Origins, to do a little bit more (starting equipment). Just so it has a bit more impact on starting characters, without handing out Melta Guns to level one characters.

And I'm trying to track down Persistant Blade. Final say goes to Koumei, because she IS the one writing this and it's best to get these rules questions sorted out in advance.

Edit: Tracked down Persistant Blade. I don't see a problem with it, pending confirmation from Koumei.

Koumei doesn't believe in class skills so you can put max ranks into whatever.

What sort of dice system do we want to use? Honor system works for me. Or we could all pop by the IRC room and use Yuffie when we need to. Whatever.
He jumps like a damned dragoon, and charges into battle fighting rather insane monsters with little more than his bare hands and rather nasty spell effects conjured up solely through knowledge and the local plantlife. He unerringly knows where his goal lies, he breathes underwater and is untroubled by space travel, seems to have no limits to his actual endurance and favors killing his enemies by driving both boots square into their skull. On the off chance this team go beyond 3rd (even if that's after a break where we swap to some different team for a bit and then come back to them when you find something relevant), I wrote up the Tech-Priest Prestige Class. Instead of being tied to a specific class like basically all of the others, it's simply tied to the background (Forge World). So yes, this means you could have a Skitarii (Storm Trooper, "Arbiter" or Veteran) become a Tech-Priest, or even an actual Arbiter go that path, or a Siege Engineer go "Surprise, I'm more of an engineer than you thought!"

Really weirdly you could have a Psyker or Penal Legionnaire become a Tech-Priest. I won't judge.

And Tech-Priest is actually one of the few things that could legitimately bridge into Siege Tier (as an Electro-Priest (from lore, no rules exist), a Mechanicus Assassin (treating their first six levels as a replacement for the Death Cultist levels + stat mods) or one of the advanced Mechanicum things from Forgeworld). There aren't many that could feasibly do that - even if a Commissar becomes a Lord Commissar, that doesn't really let them become as powerful or resilient as Siege Tier stuff.

I've got a file full of adventures. I think you could go from 1 to 6 with this crew, easily.

Hey I'm super down to play in this thing. I was actually just assuming another thread would have popped up when you decided to do the pbp. If you're ok with an additional member of the task force arriving to the mission with papers in hand (a bit late) then I'd be interested. If not that's totally cool but if you'd like another member I'll have a dude built OOC and arriving IC within the day.

I'll think about it. I left the [Recruiting] tag up for a good while.

However, you're welcome to the next round of DCA.

Sure, Dean. Go on and do you up a character and we'll make this a foursome.

Everyone else, if you added that bonus Hp, be sure to take it off.

Will do. I'll take a fourth member of the team over bonuses any day.

(Make sure you have more than 4 HP so I can at least hide behind you and treat you as an extra HP source if need be!)

As far as I can tell, minimum max HP you can have in Dungeon Crusade is 5. Sanctioned Psykers have d6 hit die (lowest in the pdf) and if you take 8 CON, you can make it 5 HP (assuming maxing first hit die). I suppose you could try to roll for HP if you really wanted...

Alright ladies and gentleman allow me to present Riley "Arson" Rikard. Riley comes from wealthy Rogue Trader blood and knows how to get himself out of trouble, a skill of his that is only overshadowed by his ability to get himself into even more trouble. Riley ended up in the military as a means of not ending up in jail and has earned multiple promotions for distinguished service in his time there, but has been busted back down to private on just as many occasions.

Riley Rikard (sometimes called "Arson" by anyone who knows about that incident)
Human Storm Trooper 1
Background: Pirate Offspring
HP: 10 DR 5/Magic or Adamantium
Init: +3
Speed: 30' (30' Armoured)

Strength 14 +2
Dexterity 16 +3
Constitution 15 +2
Intelligence 10 +0
Wisdom 12 +1
Charisma 8 -1

BAB/Grab: +1/+3
-Hell Pistol +5, 50ft Pistol, (1d8 18-20/x2) +2 to hit against armored targets
-Boltgun +5, 100ft Rapid Fire, (4d6 20/x3), Dragonfire rounds give a 5ft radius burst. Clip 30
-Melta-gun +5, 50ft Assault, (6d8 20/x3), Clip 20
-Master Crafted Chainsword +6 melee (1d8+8, 19-20/x2) [Chain] Wounding DC 13
AC: 18 (+3 Dex, +5 Armour), flat 16 touch 13
Fort +4 Ref +5 Will +1

Proficiencies:
Light and Medium Armour
Simple and Martial Weapons
Pistol, Rapid Fire and Assault Firearms

Pirate Offspring:
+2 to Spot and Hit Humans
Born to Pilot: Can pilot as a free action
Requisition: Melta Gun

Feats:
Weaponwed
Re-roll one Melta Gun attack per round, may make one Melta Gun attack as an immediate action
Combat School (Dueling: Swords and daggers)
+2 to attack and damage rolls

Rapid Strike (Ex): choose one at start of combat
-Act first for first round, even a Surprise Round
-Pounce and Leap Attack in first round
-Double Speed (no Provoking) in first turn

Deep Strike (Ex):
-Grav Landing: Surprise Round when entering via Grav-Chute

Skills:
Spot +5 (+7 for Humans)
Hide +5
Move Silently +5
Tumble +5
Sleight of Hand +7
Bluff +3
Sense Motive +5

Equipment:
Carapace Armour
Grav-Chute
Hell Pistol
Master Crafted Chainsword
Boltgun w/Dragonfire Bolts
Melta Gun
Quality Uniform
Frag Grenades
PICTURE

I had his background based requisition be of a Melta-gun so I'll have some heavy damage to throw if a Vehicle or daemonic nasty comes our way. If Maxus or Koumei think a Melta-gun is too nasty I'll change it to another one of the Stormtrooper requisitions.

While we're talking about equipment, I just noticed that Koumei updated Veteran of Mars to get Bionic Augmentation as a bonus feat and to no longer get the Darkvision. In the interests of not fucking about with my character sheet excessively, how about I just take Bionic Augmentation twice and get myself three extra shocking grasps a day?

Sure

Edit: I'll get back to you on the Melta Gun and What Happens Next. I'm too sleep-deprived to be very coherent.

Uh, yeah, when I said a free Requisition for the Pirate Offspring, I very much meant "right off the bat, you get to Requisition something off your class list", not "Go ahead and Requisition 'anything'".

A Melta gun is on the Stormtrooper's class requisition list. The Stormtrooper's requisition list is:

Requisition: Krak Grenades, Medikit, Flamer or Plasma Gun or Melta Gun, Blind Grenades

Derp, I read too quickly there.

As for Carapace, it isn't [Machine Spirit] by default, you need someone with Tinker to reinforce it with a power source. I can do that, when we have downtime.

Ok, but still, it's your rules set. I consider this as much an opportunity to test the Dungeon Crusade rules as anything so if you feel like a Melta is too much just edit the stormtrooper req's and I'll follow suit. That's what playtesting is for.

This is Maxus' game, but I'm cool with keeping it in for test purposes at least. I mean, a RTA to deal "fuck off and die (no save)" to one enemy per round is pretty rad, but when fighting groups it's less of a big deal - and weirdly, that means it's less problematic for your average low level game.

I'm down for the testing purposes.

Now, my question: Which way are you guys going? Reading the IC, I'm a bit unsure of whether you're heading for the bakery or the inn.
