Alright, then:
You reach the armour and are just about to take it when dozens of knives slide into you. You fall to the floor, cursing yourself with your last breathfor being a fool. Myurr has played his final trick upon you.
It's a trap alright, and Myurr gets the lulz.

"Cursing yourself with your last breath" seems appropriate in this one considering the readers suspect a trap but still send poor Sir Mansley to his death.

Back to the remaining door:
You enter a room that is decorated entirely in red paint, and realize that you have just walked through a Door of Teleportation. Accordingly, you cannot be sure just where the other exits from this chamber will lead. Four such doors can be seen; will you go through the north door (tum to 300), the south door (turn to 199), the east door (turn to 316) or the west door (tum to 42)?
Which direction do we want to randomly wander down?

In other news, we're coming close to doubling our death rate compared to my previous FF LP!

You are in an orange room with three doors. Will you open the north door (turn to 329), the east door (turn to 58), or the west door (turn to 300)?
Since the directions don't completely make sense here (going west here is the same section that going north at the previous junction would have led to), the best non-random way to navigate this might be by looking at section numbers, so I'll be keeping them in my updates until we get out of the maze.

Which way now?

Two doors lead from this white room. Will you go through the north door (turn to 247) or the east door (turn to 47)?
There's going to be quite a number of these boring random direction/section number choices for a while, I'm afraid, with little descriptions other than what colour the room is.

Random d2 says north.

ETA: Plus, we came in from the east, so... yeah. North.

Yeah, sorry, I can't believe I missed this obvious fact. :disgusted:

Sorry for the delay, guys.
Stepping through the door, you enter an indogo room with two doors. Will you go through the south door (turn to 300), or the east door (turn to 316)?
Before I proceed, just a question on how you want this to progress: do you guys want me to automatically move on to a new location each time if there's only one available do speed things up (at least until we're out of the maze), or would you think I should pause and see if people wish to backtrack?

If you pick the former, I'd go straight to 316, and follow this format until we hit more than two directions or if all the sections look familair.

I can't think of a reason we'd want to backtrack in a random maze. A vote from me to continue in this format.

It doesn't asks us if we want to use it, since we'd already chosen to read the words....
Unfortunately, this turns out to be one of the few instances where having a Talent screws us over.
So why not write it in Common, so an alt-universe Mansley who cannot Speak Demon will fall for it, too?

Follow the colors of the rainbow, like in The Cretan Chronicles with Herakles' Labours.

Maybe it needs to be in Simlish Demon for the spell to work.

Also, I vote we don't backtrack ever.

I thought about it, then I saw we passed through a white room...

But maybe it was just a wrong room in the maze. OK then. Let's do that. Go back to the red room and follow the colors of the rainbow (red-orange-yellow-green-blue-indigo-violet), backtracking when we're not in the right room.

Well, the previous room was orange, so we only have to backtrack one room. I guess I'll just go for the 1st available new section number if there's more than 2 choices and backtrack when the colour doesn't match....

Going back to the orange room, we try north instead:
You have just entered a bright yellow room which has three doors. Will you go through the south door (turn to 47), the east door (turn to 124), or the west door (turn to 152)?
And we found yellow! We might be on the right track! Trying east....
You step into a green room with four doors. Will you go through the north door (turn to 363), the south door (tum to 152), the east door (turn to 47), or the west door (tum to 329)?
So far so good. North now.....
The room before you has a spiral staircase leading upwards. Will you climb the stairs (tum to 56) or go back through the door (turn to 58)?
Well, that's different. Do we want to try the stairs, or go back to look for a blue room?

Shockingly, we do not go for the Blue option!
Image
You climb the staircase for what seems like hours; you reckon that you must have climbed for hundreds of feet. You are starting to think that you are trapped on a never-ending spiral staircase when you are confronted by a large Horned Skeleton. It swings a gigantic axe which swishes harmlessly over your head. You step back instinctively and, although the Skeleton makes no move towards you, it blocks the stairway completely. Will you use the DARK VEIL Talent, if you have it, to sneak past the Skeleton, or destroy it with the BANISH UNDEAD Talent, if you have it, or attack it?
Clearly, Sir Mansley doesn't think that backtracking hundreds of feet back down the stairs is a viable option.....

I just checked the options and I realize I should have just proceeded, because:
Your power knocks the Skeleton back a few steps but fails to damage it. Demonic magic is protecting the Skeleton. Will you now use the DARK VEIL Talent, if you have it, or attack the Skeleton?
So, yep, using the Talent makes zero difference, neither good nor bad, so there was no reason not to go straight ahead with the fight:
The Skeleton grins at you and aims a blow at your chest. You block it and then rush to attack.

HORNED SKELETON SKILL 8 STAMINA 14

If you win, turn to 226.
This one isn't classified as a Demon, so our SKILL will be 11 for this fight.....which still means we outclass it by quite a bit. Shouldn't be too hard.

COMBAT LOG:
Horned Skeleton 18, Sir Mansley 17. Sir Manslet is at 15.
HS 14, SM 14. Tie.
HS 12, SM 21. HS is at 12.
HS 15, SM 21. HS is at 10.
HS 16, SM 19. HS is at 8.
HS 19, SM 16. SM is at 13.
HS 11, SM 18. HS is at 6.
HS 10, SM 14. HS is at 4.
HS 19, SM 14. SM is at 11.
HS 15, SM 17. HS is at 2.
HS 14, SM 17. Horned Skeleton is shattered.
The thing got lucky a few times but is ultimately no match for us.
The SKeleton totters, then falls headlong down the staircase. As you continue to ascend, you can hear it clattering all the way down to the bottom. After a short while the stairs end in a room lit by rows and rows of candles. There is no exit from the room other than the way by which you entered. You hear whispering voices slowly growing in volume; they all seem to be offering you advice: go through the window......pass through the mirror......snuff out the candles. You know that you must make a decision soon, as the voices are gnawing away at your sanity; if you stay here, you will go mad. Then the ghostly form of your brother floats up out of the floor. His insubstantial arm points at the window, as he mouths the words, 'The window is the way to Myurr.' Will you go through the window or through the mirror; or would you rather snuff out the candles?
There's actually a picture of this room (and of our "brother") in the book, but I'm not home now, so no scanner available at the moment.

Can we trust that this is really our brother, and the advice he gives?

First off, how can a skeleton grin?

As to what now... I don't particularly trust the apparition, so... mirror?

Skeletons default to grinning what with their not having lips.

According to that girl we tried to chat up outside the tower,
'The tower and the Eye are your greatest threats. For you to be safe, they must be destroyed. Say "Shagrat" and your way into the tower is assured. But the true path to your destiny lies in the balance, the left balance. Seek the pool '.
IIRC "Shagrat" was a lie, and I don't know if "the left balance" has come up yet. If the image has anything on the left, jump into that.

This already happened.

And holy shit all of the options sound like a sucker's game.
Blow out the candles: you're eaten by a grue, thanks for playing.
Jump out of the window: you fall and die, thanks for playing.
Enter the mirror: a monster enters the room and breaks the mirror, your soul is shattered and lost forever / a copy of you is trapped for all eternity in agony in each of a hundred shards, thanks for playing.

The mirror is more likely to bring about something good, though, so: mirror.
