Actually, level 2 is also worthless, because you can just buy those from Felkin. So literally Dragon Chime is the only thing that matters, and you get that for killing him. Fuck Dark Covenant then, moving on. Killed him and have my +4 Dragon Chime, need just a few more Twinkling.

My problem is, that at this point I am still not even 3/4ths done with the game on any playthrough, but I have 2.6 million soul memory and am level 161 on my highest. Can't find anyone to summon me anywhere, can't find anyone to summon, and Bell Keepers either does nothing all the time, or summons me against people who are basically NG+ or something like using bonfire asectics to get gear. I have been attacked spells that are NG+, and by people with items that are fucking absurd. Since my level/soul memory matches up but my gear doesn't, I always lose, so I still have like 14 Titanite Slabs and zero Chunks.

At this point I just pour everything into vitality, and eventually I will be wearing Havel's set without fatrolling, and they can eat my dick as I basically just waste an hour of their life.
Felkin totally just blows me off because I only have 3 INT, so I did not know that.

I'm out of chunks too, so after killing Grandahl, I went and rejoined the Bell Keepers. Wow, has it changed since launch. Not a single damn summon in, like, an hour despite the icon pulsing. So that sucks. A lot. I know the facehugger things that burst out of the Black Gulch tar pits drop chunks. So do those spear statues in Drangleic Castle.

If you feel like just taking on the rest of the game, after you beat the final boss, Stone Trader Chloanne starts selling infinite chunks in the post-game, from what I've read. It doesn't immediately roll into NG+.

Still, I really wish there was some kind of Frampt expy who could break down titanite. I'm also rolling around in Titanite Slabs that I can't use anymore. Or that those annoying crow fuckers would give out Chunks as well as Slabs.

EDIT: You know what I just realized? The Bell Keeper summons are based on Soul Level. So Titanite Chunk farming is only a thing when you first get to the Bastille. So... fuck. Early game only, then.

Yeah, all summons are based on soul memory. So you can farm the chunks if you do that early, but late game, you can only go against late game people. And Maxus, it doesn't matter, because I have 2.7 million soul memory and am level 164 on the character who needs them, so I literally just cannot fucking do anything, because no one in NG has that soul memory unless they are done with game and full geared and just PvPing, in which case they crush me.

Having obtained the Mastadon sword on my warrior... yeah, I just assumed that all greatswords would have the same speed, and I was wrong. The Mirrah Greatsword, in addition to starting with A scaling, in addition to having better overall scaling, is also way faster as a weapon.

Give the Drangleic Greatsword a try. Or the Black Knight Greatsword (which does have 3-stat scaling, even if it's two C's and an E).

I used the BK Ultra Greatsword (even have it +5, in my habit of having a golf bag of weapons to switch between) for a while, and thankfully its moveset is different from the Greatsword; the one handed strong attacks are diagonal slashes and don't lead off with a big overhead vertical cut. Similar to the Zweihander, I guess, except a lot faster and not wearing itself out on account of hitting random walls, moons, and furniture in God's living room every time it swings.

I started a new playthrough yesterday, going all in on STR and DEX so that I can give the Mirrah Greatsword a try, since Lucatiel's already disappeared in my first playthrough. Currently using a Halberd. It's not even fully upgraded and I'm already getting damage numbers close to those with a fully upgraded Mastodon Greatsword and can get an extra swing out of an even smaller stamina bar. So, yeah... the allure of the Mastodon has faded. The A Strength scaling is nice, but definitely too much of investment to get and not enough in the long run.

Update: Fuck all your weapons, I now have the best weapon in the game. Broken Santier's Spear with Mundane enchantment.

Does approximately as much damage per strike as a mastadon or mirrah greatsword with 50 in str/dex, but I have 24 in all stats, so I also get to cast magic weapon and chameleon. And it attacks as a twinblade so like 5 attacks for every one from a mastadon. And it has infinite durability.

You can beat it against a bunch of corpses till it breaks, then it has infinite durability and twin blade move set.

It is still ass with out a mundane stone though, because it has no scaling on any stats, but infinite durability twin blade with old mundane stone is the best thing that ever existed.

Or rocks. Rocks are good.

You actually break the head off of the spear and that restore the balance.

If you can get shaded a couple times at the pursuer you can be level 30 or so before any boss, and then just find two shades and take the pursuer as your first boss on that platform. That is what my last build did. Totally worth it. Then kill the last giant, get your 100% physical block shield to last you until Royal Kite.

My next character is going to be unarmed (and cestus) only.

Anyone noticed any difference in agility and stamina regain at different threshoulds below 70% equip load ? (I know above this mark you get really slow and the "bouncing rock" roll).

Im trying different setups here and I *think* your rolling speed and stamina regain and is faster below the 40% mark, but could just be a psychological effect on me.

The stamina regen is linear, so you will not notice any difference at any level.

The roll distance is... longer based on adaptability, but I don't think it is faster at any specific point besides the obvious fatrolling at 70. I wouldn't know for very low levels though, some people talk about an increase at 30%.

Having been on the receiving end of dual caestus pummeling, I can tell you it's very effective in PVP. Stunlock galore.

I went up on that platform with my first character, just expecting to find somewhere else to explore. It did not end well.

You can just jump down. And it's not like the corpse run is very hard, so even though you only get one shot at the pursuer early and for more souls, it is still doable, and basically a free shot.

I have a little more trouble with evading the Last Giant's attacks (especially some of the club swings) than I do with the Dragonrider.

Just roll under his legs, attack a few times. Back off when he stomps and get to the other side of the room. Then charge at him and roll under his legs again.

Ok, over in this discussion people say dual infused Lacerating Bandits Knives +10 can be devastating in PvP. This woukd mean Thief builds are viable afterall.
I just put Bleed and duel wielded 2 bandit daggers +10....oh man this is beast...Using the crest of blood i have 331 bleed damage and it builds up on them so quick. even when they have shields
Bump. Lacerating Bandits Knives will proc on most enemies after two powerstanced L1 for 300 dmg atm. They individually have a bleed rating of about 330 with the crest of blood, 26 dex, and 50 faith.

Grab enough stamina and you could bleed stunlock someone into oblivion using this combo.
Can someone confirm that ?

I mean whatever, I do 300 damage per hit and have a 5 hit combo in like one second, so whatever, I guess you can bleed people for 300 damage if you care.

I see lots of people complainijg the Dex builds were nerfed (like myself) and the Thief vanished from the game. If that proves true, then its awesomely good news.
