The Gaming Den

I'd like to know if ths board has a lot of banned users. Having been banned from two boards in a month on the pretense of being a sock of a previously banned user (I guess that's the default excuse for a ban in some cases) I heard about this place and was hoping it didn't have a lot of previously banned users for me to be accused of socking for.

To actually answer the question: We have a selection of banned spambots, Frantic (who got banned for spamming the forum with underage dismemberment porn), Roy (who got banned for trolling other websites and bringing down shit on the Den) and Roy's assorted sockpuppet accounts. I can't think of anyone else who's actually been banned.

Psychic Robot got banned for tone.

There's been a few jackasses who show up to troll and get banned.

Don't wish death on other people (what Psychic Robot got the axe over), and don't be a "LOL I TROLLED YOU" jackass and hold up your end of a conversation, and you're pretty much welcome.

I think a bunch of SA goons got banned for (obvious, blatant, and explicitly admitted) sock puppetry, but I'm not certain. What few bans there are do not tend to be publicly discussed.

Am I the only one who thinks this is an obvious Roy 3.0 who just wants to set up his defense in advance?

I had wondered. It's a change of pace in that the name doesn't have obvious references to things like logic, flaming, anti-basket-weaver sentiments, or gimp-culling.

If this were the case, I'd be curious to see if he could post in a way that wouldn't get himself banned for more than two weeks (Did GC get banned or just rage-quit?).

It's an odd way to join the board, and while the thought occurred to me (probably everyone, I don't know how you couldn't think it at least briefly; the sig is about burning and crushing 'evil') it's not really something I feel the need to assert as true absent further evidence. Mostly because if it is Roy in disguise, a Roy that is nothing like Roy is a solved problem. And if if it Roy in disguise and the disguise slips and it becomes obviously Roy, it's pretty easy to just solve the problem them. So my care-o-meter for whether or not it's Roy is at zero.

For the record, no one who had would say they did. The mere fact that you started by trying to deflect arguments that you are a previously banned user before they were even made is suspicious. And I at least am more susceptible to such suspicion, coming as it does, a week or so after a previously banned user (possibly) was rebanned.

So... when did he say that he was banned from therpgsite, and if he didn't, why did Mistborn, the friend of GC, know that he was banned from there?

This thread is like an epic troll where someone tries really hard to convince me that they are a previously banned user.

Well, it didn't take me very long to find that Red Lantern is the name of a banned person on theRPGSite, and given that Mistborn seems to go there, he would have had ample opportunity to investigate.

Yes, absolutely, don't wish death on other people, or imply violence towards other people. That's very wrong and you'll be banned for it.

The code is more what you'd call "guidelines" than actual rules.

I think that we should ban people who show up asking if we ban people. It seems like they're gagging for it.
