Looks pretty neat! Judging by the posts in that Twitter, it's still in active development. Are there any public demos?

The last Touhou sidescroller I saw was Koumajou Densetsu, which apparently got a premium rerelease in 2012. Not sure where you can get it these days, but there's some fun LPs for "touhouvania" 1 and 2 on Youtube.

Thanks for the link, hopefully the final release plays as well as it looks.

I recommend Twilight Frontier's New Super Marisa Land; it's the best Mario clone I've ever played. Tight controls, reasonable challenges, and a great OST. Tasofro released a sequel on Steam a few months ago, MarisaLand Legacy, but I haven't had the chance to play it yet.

(Tasofro also did MegaMari, but I like Mario better).

A shame, it looks like this game is not well optimized for keyboards. You can do some really cool stuff, but you'll want a controller to play effectively.

I've seen people play Street Fighter III on a keyboard, I figure you'll be fine

I know nothing of Touhou, but I like side-scrollers and games with cute animu girls as the protagonists. I'd get it.
Is this wretched demi-bee
Half asleep upon my knee
Some freak from a menagerie?
No! It's Eric, the half a bee

I got to the first boss spamming my infinite air-dash, but the game was clunky and didn't do a great job teaching mechanics. I'll probably revisit it next year, but for now I'm going back to Touhou Luna Nights. That got a free expansion with a really cool Reimu fight earlier this year!
