So, I'm trying to get a Celesteela, but everyone on the GTS wants unreasonable shit for one, so I put up a Xurkitree on the GTS in exchange for a Celesteela. I figure it's a long shot, but... If anyone here has Moon and wants a Sun-exclusive Ultra Beast, then search for Kartana on the GTS. My player's name is Alba Ami.

Edit sorry, meant to say Xurkitree, not Kartana.

You wanna know what I think the biggest flaw of Sun/Moon is? There's no fucking National Pokedex.

See, the Pokemon Bank app recently updated to be compatible with S/M, so I the first thing I did was transfer ALL my Pokemon from Gen VI to the Bank, and then transfer them to Sun, only to discover, to my horror, that the Pokedex didn't update to include the 600+ Pokemon I just got.

I did some searching, and I found that the National Pokedex is now a feature in Pokemon Bank. Fine, I figure. I'll just look up the new Pokemon there. Only... There are no new entries for previously unobtainable Pokemon. Seriously, look up, like, Unown or something and there's no text, just it's sprite, height/weight, etc.. Did Game Freak seriously get so fucking lazy that they couldn't be bothered to come up with new Pokedex entries? I mean, half the fun of the games, at least for me, is filling up the Pokedex. Now, there is literally no point to it. What the fuck?

Like, this is the biggest letdown I've ever had since finding out the 2" Metroplex was a shitty toy. What a wast $200 of that was. At least with this I got a Z-Crystal for Mew out of the deal.

Argh grinding out a battle worthy pokemon is still killing my enthusiasm for the post game.

Honestly, once you complete the UB quest line, there isn't much else to do in the post game BUT grind out buff murder machines. It doesn't help that there's not many good places to train outside of abandoning your peeps at PokePelego or murdering the Elite Four over an' over.

By the way, do you have Sun, or Moon?

It's one of the Ultra Beasts. It's alright, though, I got one from the GTS (finally), so never mind.

A game has more activities in areas where it has more players. This is racist because I need to write an article to keep my job and it's a slow news week.

She seriously compared pokeballs to police shootings and water. Get some perspective.

No, a game has more activities in areas where another game, which was predominantly played by white douchebros, had more players. And they don't say a lack of pokestops is as bad as a lack of water, they say even the fucking pokemon game discriminates, what's wrong with the world.
Yes, Pokémon Go is just another silly smartphone game. But through its popularity and usage patterns, we can see the very real boundaries of poverty and racism that continue to be reinforced when we should be using our technologies to dismantle them.
And you know what? They're right to raise the alarm. As organizations offload decision-making to unaccountable neural networks, this shit is going to get worse. People already get 8 years for joyriding kick scooters because a sentencing algorithm recommended a long term.

Met up with a friend of mine who localizes for Pokemon in the west. He mentioned that Muk is a pokemon that eats poop of other pokemon in the wild, but the mention of poop offends Americans so they can only have muk eating trash or toxic waste in the games.

I'm not surprised. They did the same thing with Numemon and Scumon in Digimon. Americans are very stupid.

It's a shitty country founded by people who got kicked out by religious nutbags for being too religious and too crazy. Is anyone surprised puritans founded a shitty country? Blame Europe for not sending them in a leaky ship.

On topic: Is there a pokemon game that doesn't keep half of the stuff you want beyond end-game, or that has an end-game worth playing?

Pokemon Red/Blue/Green basically does what you want there, with only Mewtwo being locked behind the endgame. I mean it's going to be several hours of play before you get a Scyther or Tauros or whatever, but what do you want, it's an RPG. You're still not looking at having to beat all of the gym leaders to get that far, let alone beat the Elite 4.

Pokemon X/Y has a decent-enough endgame in that you get an actual post-game storyline, with chapters, and it's different enough from the base game to be interesting. It doesn't even revolve around legendaries that you don't care about. At least I think it's X/Y, it might be Black 2/White 2. It's been a long time.

If you just want something with Pokemon in it rather than a "main line", the Mystery Dungeon games are pretty good for that. You can just about ignore the actual plot progression and just go to various areas to befriend the specific pokemon you want. Though some of them lock your personal evolution (not the friends you make, just your initial character) behind the endgame.

It is X/Y. The Looker Episode. One of the few excellent things about the game.

That and the fact that they provide an answer to the age-old question of "What's the purpose of Stonehenge?" (A secret weapon) And raising Kangaskhan and Mawile to top tier for a while.

The way Pokemon's balanced needs a revamp. IV/EV's and teaching moves in breeding chains are really time consuming to figure out, but necessary for tournament play. You should be able to raise the Charizard n' Pikachu you started off with and go compete in tournaments.

Say some way of 'limit breaking' the weaker stat pokemon to have more stats overall.

The battle system is fun as it is when you do trudge through the eugenics program of making battle worthy Pokemon but I wonder what could improve it while maintaining it's streamlined "pick 1 of 4 moves" gameplay.

Like introduce a cooldown for "everyone spams this" moves like return and all those 100+ power 100% accuracy moves so you have to do something else with your next turn (not giving up a turn like hyper beam though).

As all of the games are 3D now, maybe some simple movement dynamics. They already have "underground", "in the sky" as position states that effect moves, so it's not a new idea. But having more moves interact with those positioning states.

I would be satisfied with just some way of making our starter tournament viable instead of needing to breed them from scratch.

Although in the other hand the single player and duels with my friends who don't go through all that hassle either satisfies me enough.

Speaking of which, it was mentioned that Pokemon Switch will be part of the mainline series, so that's a lot of tech they can work with.

Y'know what I would totally drown someone for? A new, Gen VII Mystery Dungeon game. I would love to play as a Primarina with a Braixen pal (my two favorite starters).

... Speaking of drowning, I want the autocorrect on my tablet to die in a fire.

So, hey, new Pokemon games revealed for the Switch; remakes of Pokemon Yellow, which apparently everyone was clamouring for. Also some Roblox looking crap that no one cares about. Apparently, proper Gen VIII games'll come out next year. Fun...?

I don't have a Switch, but I like what they're doing with Pokemon Let's Go! Letting you hand half a controller to a visiting friend so they can help out without specifically bringing their save file on a device and checking they're the same level as you, being almost a regular Pokemon game except using the Go Outside mechanics for capturing... there's some cool stuff there. Sure, it's not a new generation with a new "Even more stupid than the eggs, the super palm tree, the flower wreath, the ice cream, the keyring and the alphabet" pokemon, or a delicious remake of Diamond and Pearl, but for a non-core, non-Mystery Dungeon game it looks solid.

Also all the info we have had actually been leaked on 4chan and reddit... on April 1. And people assumed it was just bullshit because obviously. That was masterfully executed.

next mainline pokemon is due for release in 2019

Would be nice if they decided to revamp the mechanics to not be 70's D&D derived
