The Premise
One part sandbox, one part dungeon crawl. Your group has been wisked away to the Crypts of Chaos by the Mad God. What you do there is entirely up to you, but I've drafted out an initial maze and some locations, so we can play it by ear until you escape or reach an ending you find suitable. There may be a prophecy involved at some point, but don't get your panties in a twist about it.
The Hook
I'd like to try an open-ended D&D3ish ruleset. That means that we begin with the System Reference Document ( http://d20srd.org ), and any class, feat, rule, etc. in there is open for use. Players may also choose to import any D&D rule, class, feat, spell, etc. from a published sourcebook, magazine, web supplement, etc. with the following guidelines and restrictions:
1) Any book/magazine/source you use, I get to use as Mister Cavern. Any book/magazine/source you don't use, I don't get to use either.
2) Any rule that would affect the other players' characters, they get a vote on whether it goes in the game. Majority rules.
3) No straight-up fan material.
4) No material not in the English language.
5) Anything from a related d20 system (Pathfinder, True20, etc.) may be allowed, but goes up to a vote from the rest of the players. Majority rules.
Ideally, I'd like to start everybody at Effective Character Level 1, but we can maybe bend that if people are hard-up to play level-adjusted races or monsters.
The Golden Rule
This is designed to be a fun game, to allow players to play whatever they want. If that means munchkinning out, awesome. If that means I get three different flavors of winged elf, awesome. I do not require players to play nice with each other, and don't care what alignment/classes/etc. anyone goes for. I want to see people crawl through a dungeon and have fun. If you're up for it, let's hear it.

3. Behind the plaque of Vectra, a false brick: the missing trump.
4. Sixteen steps in Hel, then left three steps, the stone above is hollow: the Black Orb.
5. Pull the left lever, descend the stairs, paint the sigil of the fly with blood to access the vault of the runestone.
6. Beneath the Fountain of Lustful Death, to the south, on the altar, make a sacrifice and grasp the cursed blade.
7. Pull the third lever in the third row to reveal a soul stone.
8. In the Brides' Room, descend the stair beneath the third coffin in the third row: life without end.
9. East of the entrance, the center of the spiral: behind the light is the second black scroll.
10. In the Chamber of the Serpent, press the left eye: the Crown of Stars.
11. Between the Devil's Chessboards, press the left eye. Let three others drink before you, then break the chain: The Ring of Elemental Mastery.
12. In the Crypts of the Fallen, the third house on the third street: The Giant's Pizzle and the Daemon Engine.
13. West of the entrance, above the Threshold of the Succubus, insert the Giant's Pizzle to gain the familiar.
14. Beneath the Fountain of Blood, to the north, touch the altar: redemption.
15. Above the God's Coin, a hidden passage, riddle the guardian, and access the Library of the Stone Wizards.
16. On the threshold of the Mad God, third step hollow: the Empty Cube.
At the end of each line is a mark - a cross with a dot in each quadrant.
