Dom3 MP anyone?

Post by tenuki »

Hey,

I got Dom3 a few weeks ago and did a couple of SP games. Now I'd like to try MP. Anyone up for a game?

I'd also appreciate if somebody could show me the ropes of MP.

I'm interested in an MA game. What sort of MP ropes do you mean?

first and foremost, all the technical stuff. how to administrate the game (or does llamaserver do that for you?), how to file moves, what's the usual turn frequency, which mods are good, how do you set which mods are used, etc.

secondly, i'm a newb at the game. the AIs seem pretty dumb to me, but i expect to be flattened by any halfway decent player out there. i guess there is no way around that for the first few games. however, i'd like some help in my efforts to learn as much from it as possible.

MA game looks good to me.

Its really simple to create and admin an game on llamaserver.
Just try to create one. You can delete it afterwards.

The two most important things are:
1. Don't forget the Admin Password
2. Set an Master Password.

I'd be up for another game, possibly as LA ermor so people can panic in my general direction.

I don't think I'd be stretched too thin if I took on one more game.

So one person said MA and another person wanted to play Ashen Fields, which is a LA position. I personally prefer the MA. Anyone else have opinions?

For MA, my choices would be:
  • Marignon
  • Pythium
  • Caelum
For LA, my choices would be:
  • Marignon
  • Utgard
  • Ulm
I prefer Magic Sites between 40 and 50, normal gold and supplies, and victory points (non-cumulative).

I'm in. I'm pretty sure I can handle two games at once.

I'd prefer MA also. With that in mind,

1) Marignon
2) C'tis
3) Abysia

An alternative would be an all age game...

I'd take Ermor either way

So, LA:

Ermor
Arco
Atlantis

MA:
Ermor
Pythium
Caelum

Either LA or MA's fine with me. I second the use of victory points.
LA:
Arcoscephale
T'ien Ch'i
Agartha

MA:
Vanheim
Jotunheim
T'ien Ch'i

MA:
Abbysia
Caelum
Mictlan

Also, could we use the Mark of the Champion mod? And maybe the Cross Path Combat Spells mod?

I would prefer site frequency between 45 and 50. Renaming on, Hall of Fame 15, and all other settings normal.

I have no idea what those are. In general, when I play a competitive multiplayer game, I want to not use peoples' crazy mods.

champ mod is fine cpcs is also good but much more radical.

champ mod just turns the champ trident into a helmet and improves it a little bit. only affects arena prize afaik.

I would like to play too though I wont pick nations until after mods and age have been agreed upon.

I like that one.

Obviously, if we have more than 10 land players, we'll want to not use it. And if we don't have both a Rlyeh AND a Atlantis, it won't be usable except as a "Face the Sea Lord" team-up map. But yeah, looks nice.

Mark of the Champion turns the arena prize into a helmet that comes with the trident, it also offers good protection for the head and a small amount of body protection.

CPCS has a bunch of low level spells that take 2 paths at 1 or 2 to cast. I think the idea is to make mages with 1 pick in two or more paths more useful in combat.

I genuinely don't care if Mark of the Champion is used or not. CPCS is ten flavors of bullshit and I can't be fucked to learn all those crazy bullshit new spells and won't play with it.
