Problem with the PM system?

I'm getting this error:
"Could not connect to smtp host : 111 : Connection refused"
I tried to PM the admins as well, and, since it's a PM it doesn't work. So I'm posting my issue here.
Is this just a hiccough in the server software?
Thanks for your time.

I'm pretty sure that the PM still gets sent, just like a post still gets made when you get the same error. If not, I guess I tried to send a few PMs that were swallowed by the void.

J_E, I've sent you a test PM and got the same message.

I remember sending a PM and getting the message, and I got a reply.
Edit: In fact, I can't think of a time that I made a regluar post and got the error that the message didn't go through. I don't know what the error is, but it seems to have no impact whatsoever on my posts.

It's a bug with email notifications. You post in a thread that someone has subscribed to or sent a PM to someone who has opted for notifications, and the notification does not get sent. That's it.

Thanks IGTN, PMs are being sent.
Starmaker, thanks for clearing that up.

Yeah, that makes sense. It explains why it always seems to happen in certain threads and not in others.
