I'll give you a hint though: it wasn't even something from yesterday or even the current thread that they finally settled on as their "reason" for handing out a permanent ban.

I cheated by going to Dumpshock, where there's a link to the public announcement of Frank's permaban, listed as "Dumpshock Forums latest news". Because that's what needs to be on the front page. Frank's permaban. Let me assure all of you that their reasoning is even dumber than you think it is.

Honestly, that wasn't even mean. This isn't an emergency, they don't need a WHAAAAMBUILANCE, they just need some salve for that persistent butthurt problem. It comes with that mandatory rod up their asses.

Truly, I don't find it insulting to my intelligence nearly as much as I think it is insulting to theirs. They can't honestly believe that I, or anyone else wi think that merited a warning of any kind.

Although yes, the post in question was even in direct response to the person in question saying that he and I had engaged in a flame war some years back on Enworld which I probably did not remember. So it wasn't even out of the blue or off topic or anything.

Was there any real question that they were going to ban you sooner or later? The mods are clearly in general offended by Frank.

I got the impression from this that they just wanted an excuse unrelated to the general topic you raised (embezzlement by Loren).

A friend of mine has wondered if the act of banning Frank from forums has become its own internet meme. I know I myself have lost track of the number of forums he can no longer go back to, let alone the reasons.

I could see 'pulling a frank' being used to describe getting banned due to excessive honesty and plain-speakin'.

Well, there is certainly that. Also, not a small number of the mods believe that I am literally and specifically destroying Shadowrun. Recall that Bull decided that the best way to help Shadowrun through this crisis was to take on more duties for Catalyst Game Labs, working closer with Loren Coleman. Several of them seriously seem to believe that trying to divorce Shadowrun from Loren Coleman (who has stolen all the money used to print the fucking books) is going to destroy Shadowrun, while keeping the game in the hands of a thief will not.

Also complicated is the fact that at east one of the mods, the mod who delivered all three of my final warnings during this crisis, is himself a Mormon. So he was so offended that I stated that Randall Bills' religious tirades were a problem, that he gave me two warnings just for that (note: Randall Bills is a mormon). However, the fact is that Randall Bills' religiosity is a problem. A severe one. Not just because he has described himself as "The messiah of Battletech" who can "bring Battletech to its knees" simply by telling the fans that he is not involved - but also because he has said specifically and in leaked documents that he is religiously motivated to keep a known thief at the head of the company. Indeed, he told the rest of the investors that he would "burn this company to the ground" rather than damage his friendship with Loren. And somehow, reporting that this man is "not rational" constitutes "religious intolerance" on my part.

You do know that each and every Mormon believes that they are going to be gods of their own planets after they die? Messianic self-delusion is built into their philosophical framework.

I think it's adorable. They honestly think an omnipotent being thinks they'd make good peers.
