It does, and so it redirects just fine, but more than half the time, it adds the same error mean liar got before sending me to the correct page.

Weird.
Are you getting it when you try to go to any thread, or when you try to go to a certain post like newest, or last post? I have been getting it, but thought it was jsut me since i updated to a beta version of my browser, and have only gone to threads via the newest post, and last post functions.

Previously my browser was just asking if it was allowed to redirect via a tool of the browser, like this version of phpBB had mixed code form an older version plus a new version.

I'm getting the following error very regularly:
Could not connect to the database PHP Warning: mysql_connect() [function.mysql-connect]: User phpbb_tgdmb has already more than 'max_user_connections' active connections in G:\Domains\tgdmb.com\wwwroot\db\mysql4.php on line 48

What CG said +1. It occurred 3 times in succession (reload every few seconds), and then I stepped away for a few minutes before posting this.

The spam bots and crawlers never sleep!

On that note, what ever happened to that weird wikipedia-bot?

Urgh. The max_user_connections error just happened about 5 times in a row just now. For both IMHO and ATGD, and when submitting this post.

I have noticed one difference: it stays on the "phpBB : Critical Error Could not connect to the database" for about a second or so before adding the rest whereas when I've had the message before it all appeared at once.

Oh, and the number of threads that didn't exit varies from 1 to 2, and it had a warning message about threads not exiting at the bottom of the confirmation page just after submitting before it forwarded me to the thread.

I wonder if it has anything to do with the loss of the subdomain causing problems for phpBB? was it only with the switch that all URIs resolved to tgdmb.com without the WWW subdomain?

Sometimes this can give MySQL or phpBB some problems. I wasn't paying attention until to day, but in the past I do recall everything i did had the WWW subdomain, whereas today it does not.

Same here. Here's the error message, in full:

phpBB : Critical Error

Could not connect to the databasePHP Warning: mysql_connect() [function.mysql-connect]: User phpbb_tgdmb has already more than 'max_user_connections' active connections in G:\Domains\tgdmb.com\wwwroot\db\mysql4.php on line 48

Just got two new errors. Firstly when trying to access a thread I got the basic page but in the central box and at the bottom of the page I got:
Could not obtain post/user information.

PHP Warning: mysql_query() [function.mysql-query]: Unable to save result set in G:\Domains\tgdmb.com\wwwroot\db\mysql4.php on line 118
Then, when trying to reply to a thread I got the same layout, but instead saying:
Could not insert new word matches

Error in my_thread_global_end(): 1 threads didn't exit
It's done this twice today. Thankfully it does actually reply to the thread, it just doesn't tell me it does.

On the other hand, editing a post seems to work fine.

I keep getting the first error Parthenon describes, pretty much every time I try to open a thread.

New errors:

I get "Could not obtain post/user information." in the error box, and "PHP Warning: mysql_query() [function.mysql-query]: Unable to save result set in G:\Domains\tgdmb.com\wwwroot\db\mysql4.php on line 118 " at the bottom of the screen. I got these just now trying to open this thread to follow the continuing error saga :-/

New error:

The Last Post column for the IMHO forum shows the latest post with a date of "Wed Dec 31, 1969 4:00 pm" and shows it written by " ".

And when trying to post that, I got this General Error "Could not insert new word matches"... and when i hit back to try again it had gone through anyway.

Down for a long while and got two new errors. When trying to access ATGD I got
CGI Error

The specified CGI application misbehaved by not returning a complete set of HTTP headers.
And on MPSIMS I got
CGI Timeout

The specified CGI application exceeded the allowed time for processing. The server has deleted the process.
I've had both of these twice now, on forums and threads. And is it just me or is the load time, even when up and running normally, about 3-5 times longer than normal?

And just now when previewing this very post, the topic review frame comes up blank.

We suffered from a database corruption. The problem sounds bad, but it's relatively easy to fix. However, it was exacerbated by me not yet having the altered passwords after the move and Neil being out of town the past couple of days.

Please accept my apologies for for the downtime.

Nifty also had been getting progressively worse as far as performance goes, and for a few hours yesterday our new host's entire system was offline. My hunch is the degrading performance is tied to the offline-related downtime, but I don't have any actual evidence for that. I'll keep an eye on overall performance.

Please let me know what errors continue to happen. I regularly get the one Maj reported, both here and Nifty. What else still pops up?

all of the last two days, I was getting those kind of CGI errors. Though usually they said they couldn't begin a new session.

Right. Most of the last two days, we were down with the db corruption. There was a 2-3 hour period yesterday where we were down because of host errors (and during that time we got timeout errors from the browser rather than the error from the database).

I'm curious what errors, if any, are still occurring as of this morning.

all of them since Neil had to move the site.

Well I didn't get an error when i tried clicking on last post, but still having those problems with the refresh when clicking on new post, and when clicking on anything that should use the meta-refresh.

still getting things like this:

Error in my_thread_global_end(): 1 threads didn't exit

But not getting the 404, or cannot connect to database, or too many users errors so far.

i still say there is something in that the WWW is missing form the links while i bet phpBB is still looking for it to be there which may be causing some little quirks that are getting in the way of other things, maybe even the database if it goes looking for things and gets an error when the user WWW is not trying to access the database.

but pretty much no change since the problems started for me save for the actual downtime.

If I knew exactly which version of phpBB was being used, i would check to see what could cause those errors in it, or if it is a database error being generated on the page from an "or die" that just sends the SQL or whatever system tgdmb uses for its db error to be printed on the page.
