Tome of Fiends: Demondand

Post by Kaelik »

1) Where can I find the Demondand subtype? It's not in any of the MM I-IV.

2) Why are there no PrCs that grant spheres? There are a couple in races of war, but something for not totally fiend characters to pick up spheres I thought would fit really well with the idea of the book, even if it was just basic access.

Fiend Folio page 42

It is not explicitly spelled out as a subtype, but it has traits listed.

The Demodands come from one of the intermediate planes (Carceri), which means that they get very little love. People usually only care about the creatures from the end points of the wheel, so that's the stuff that usually gets written up.

Yeah there are way too many fucking planes anyway... And most of them aren't anything anybody cares about. The nine hells and the abyss are like the only planes that actually have people who do shit.

Don't forget the yugoloth fetishists. They have a fairly fanatical group of followers.

b/c they're mercenaries, and players like to play that trope.

While everyone's Philosophy is not in accord, that doesn't mean we're not on board.

More likely because they're written to secretly control everything and be super awesome super evil things who have a caste that are also furries.

They're useless unless you want to use them as settings.

...but you don't like planar adventures anyway.

The organization is pretty dumb though. Why the 'prison plane' is Chaotic Neutral Evil is beyond me. Really, "Hell" should just be a huge city in "the Abyss". You can even keep the Blood War, it just becomes a siege. "The Gray Waste" is just a huge amount of land that's been completely devastated by the war. You can even keep the wedding cake nature of the planes, where it's possible to travel to a lower level of the city, which rests on a lower plane of the abyss. And things get colder the farther you go down, just like Carceri.

Speaking of Carceri, the prison dimension would be a non-aligned collection of interconnected demiplanes where powerful folks put things they want disappeared.
