It's more balanced, and more skill based; than item based; compared to Diablo 1 or 2. I've found. Honestly, for the little time that I did play it I'm pretty impressed at how well it plays. As well as how balanced characters are, regardless of the value or rarity of their gear. A powergaming player with trash gear can be more effective than a casual player with highly focused gear builds.

As long as Jakub Růzalski keeps doing more art for this universe, I'm already happy. My friends got Scythe, and it's an awesome board game.

Also, all the Youtube comments that are a variation of "lmao @ Poland trying to make itself look more important in WW2!": Well, now they know how the rest of the world feels about American games and movies for the same period.

If that's gameplay footage, it's looking pretty good. Looks like there's vehicle/mech collisions. The push-powered octopod HMG "platform design" is a really clever injection of impractical modern mechanical vehicle designs into practical alt-history machinery. The HMG that's on the platform looks bit big compared to the humans using it though.

The comments sections for this video is an dark abyss of the soul. Other comment videos sections for Iron Harvest seem more charitable.

For all of you with fond memories of that game:
There will be a 3D Remake of the old SNES Game Secret Of Mana made for both PC and PS4 in 2018 it seems.

Looks like a meeting of "rule of cool" and battle simulator scale, where you need a big recognizable shape so you can see what the tiny men are shooting while watching from a 50 foot robot commander's viewscale. Probably also a bit of RTS unit-jostling, where making certain units take up space is a game balance element.

Here are my MegaMaker levels, if anyone is interested:

Familiar-looking rock formations: 123409
(There are essentially three paths you can take, based on how frantic you like your platforming)

Tower of Bobbylon: 124257
(Your more standard fare)

Rodjod Runner: 125054
(Does anyone, by any chance, remember... Battletoads? Such as THAT ONE FUCKING LEVEL I SWEAR TO CHRIST FFFF-)

Is This Sonic?: 130432
(Get used to the spin-jump and timing your bounces off enemies. Probably the hardest of the four.)

As far as cash grabs go it's one I'm OK with. Secret of Mana is one of several 16 bit era RPGs that had subpar translations due to deadlines and technical limitations so you get a double dip of nostalgia and some new dialogue wrinkles to check out. I mean, there's already phone ports that were re-translated so you could scratch the itch that way if you wanted to but personally I'd rather play with my trusty pad and fancy monitor.

It would be nice to finally have a version to come to USA.

I'd just like to vent briefly about 20XX

Roguelite procedurally generated Mega Man sounds good, but I had an easier time playing Isaac frankly, and that isn't how I remembered the Mega Man X games at all. Not helped by health pickups being approximately as common as hen's teeth and health not refilling between stages. And no, I don't consider that an excusable concession to the roguelike format in a Mega Man game - not even given that bottomless pits ding you for 1 damage and teleport you to your last nonmoving surface instead of instantly killing you.

But really, the sticking point that brings it from frustrating to insulting is how Soul Chips work.

Soul Chips are the game's "XP what you get each run to spend before the next run". Which sounds fine, except that whenever you start a new run all your soul chips are flushed down the toilet. Want a particular upgrade? Fuck you, no grinding for it, you instead have to spend approximately 127 times as long as you otherwise would have grinding until your own muscle memory is good enough to earn all those soul chips in one run. At which point you clearly don't need the upgrade.

If I wanted to play the game where you have to already have got gud or started from a position of obscene advantage to get any of the things that make the game easier, I'd play the stock market.

1-Play stock market.
2-Get filthy rich.
3-Hire people to design your dream games.
4-?
5-Profit!

Why does not one of the rich ass geeks and nerds from google or facebook buy the rights to certain IPs and gift them to some developers who are known to make good games? <.<

I bought Xcom 2 when it was heavily discounted and I've had some fun with it but as with the first game I've found that the difficulty curve really grinds my gears. What I hate most is the way the squad size upgrades are only unlocked by grooming a high ranking soldier; the game still snowballs into being irritatingly hard or stupidly easy based largely on how good of a job you do coddling one or two guys like they're a MOBA carry so you can get someone promoted to Captain on schedule. Bonus points if your first dude is a Ranger Captain--increased damage on flank attacks is almost as good as going up a weapon tier.

I know a few people who downloaded the Long War mod JUST to get the squad size boost. Bringing eight guys means you can always have a few rookies along to increase your skill diversity, and you avoid that awkward early bit where you just don't have enough guns to go around. It does make Squadsight a touch even more overpowered than it usually is, so maybe forego that upgrade to keep the spirit of the game intact.

I got a fan-translated copy of Saga 2 for DS. It's fun so far, still working on the new features (being a japanese game with no western release there aren't a lot of English guides online. However the Final Fantasy Legend 2 for Gameboy is close enough that I've found it good advice).

EDIT: One of the NPCs is a lady centaur dominatrix. Okay, talk about things I didn't realize I wanted until I saw it...

The next DLC for Stellaris has dropped.
Synthetic Dawn. It focuses mainly on machine Empires and Crysis stuff.
And it only costs 10 bucks.

A D&D 5e idle game. I'm baffled, what reason does this possibly have to exist?

Idle games are all the rage these days. Kongregate actually gave in and created an Idle category once Clicker Heroes went nuts.

Idle games are something that you can play at work while ostensibly doing actually productive things. As such, they're very popular.
