What in My name is going on here? How are these bots getting in?

This board is using the same software as Nifty, yes?
Is it easy to add the 'report post' mod that they have?

Also: Hypnotherapy spam: http://tgdmb.com/viewtopic.php?t=48458

...and the Porn spam previously mentioned: http://tgdmb.com/viewtopic.php?t=48456

[TGFBS]

Thanks for reporting the SPAM. I'll go take care of it now. Ramnza and I are in Mexico for Spring Break so our internet connecion is spotty.

As far as the REPORT POST function, the request has been put in.

Could we put some sort of image verification thing (I think it's called CAPTCHA) on the registration page?

It seems like these php boards really attract the spam. The other message board (which uses the same format as TGD does now) I keep up with is a martyr to spam, as well...

It seems the bots know how to apply to create accounts.

I believe it's time to turn off automatically allowing posting permission to new accounts until there's captcha.

Just to say, it's actually pretty funny

Teen Titan porn...

Ugly teen porn...

I don't know if the funniest is Teen Titan porn, or Crissa gaining the aquatic subtype. But it's a good drawing - from your spouse too?

In addition to the aforementioned teen titan porn spam http://tgdmb.com/viewtopic.php?t=48489, and ugly porn spam http://tgdmb.com/viewtopic.php?t=48488 - also more porn spam http://tgdmb.com/viewtopic.php?t=48487

[edit] also, couple of links from page 1 missed being deleted yet: Spam posted to an existing thread: http://www.tgdmb.com/viewtopic.php?p=48917#48917

and replica spam: http://tgdmb.com/viewtopic.php?t=48462

There's CAPTCHA now, actually. The problem is that it's really old CAPTCHA tech so it's fairly simple for OCR software to get around it.

One of the mods we installed in Nifty requires an answer to a registration question. Since we've installed it, we've had no problems with the fuckers. I believe Neil's real life has temporarily exploded; we're working to get stuff figured out so we can help fbmf get that mod (and a few others) applied over here.

The easiest way to defeat captcha is just to know all the answers.

But there's like one flag to turn off registrations...
