I am moving.

So I took the entrance exam and had my interview with Charles University 2nd Faculty of Medicine in Prague. The good news: I tied for the top spot and I'm now enrolled in the 2008 class.

The other news: they mean the class whose year ends in 2008. I begin classes here on October 1st. Holy crap.

So I'm moving. To the Czech Republic. And I'm doing it less than two weeks after I get back from the Czech Republic. And I don't know if I'm ever coming back.

Wow, congratulations. How're your friends and family taking the news of the sudden move?

I assume the internets have been invented in the Czech Republic so when you aren't too busy we should hear from you intermittently, right? A shame I'll likely never get to meet you in person, at Gen Con or something, but I am happy for your success.

I'll go to Germany at some point this year, I'd love to meet and hang out with you. Also, you are hereby invited to come to Greece during the summer break when the vast majority of students converses at a beach camping and has fun. I'll be working there as a computer technician. Cheers!

yeah, prague is a nice city.

some words of advice:

haggle for taxi price. seriously.
when they say "meat with something and cream" they mean sweet cream. try it, you might like it, but i doubt it.
ditto for cabbage. it's sweet. and it's everywhere. as in, they put cabbage in soups, sauces, salads, everywhere. always sweet.
public transport kicks ass over there, use it.
don't go to big brewhouses, small time breweries are fenomenal.

and if you get by croatia(a lot of chechs go to our seaside) anytime, drop me a line.

Those ex-Soviet eastern Europeans will seriously try to milk the American out of you. Be careful how much you pay for everything...

And since you're pretty much 'there', check out Slovakia too if you can, even if it's just for an evening; their dishes are worth trying too...

That did seem a bit harsh to me; advertising it like that. The only person I ever ignored on here was PhoneLobster after he repeatedly called me a racist and an idiot. Even then I've unignored him since then, though he doesn't seem to have been active lately.

Well I don't care what he does on his end, but still, being who I am there's always that far off voice of childhood saying "was it something I did?"

Just keep reminding yourself, there's 6 billion people in this world, between 200-300 come here. Out of all those people, there are more that simply don't care if you exist or not, and even those that do like you, relative to the amount that are just ... *sigh*.

Another dilemna is that if I do overstep certain boundaries, why don't people fucking say so more often!!!
