Irony on The Gaming Den
I find it funny that the "Last Post" in "In The Trenches" is "Explosions" and that the last post in "It's my Own Invention" is "Improved Explosions." Seeing this now for for several days in a row is priceless.
Re: Irony on The Gaming Den
...that is awesome, now that you mention it.

I hadn't thought of posting about it, but I'd been thinking the same of late.

Yeah that is pretty cool. It's made even better for me since I'll often get to see my name as the latest poster in both topics. Another layer is added in that the topics were started by the same poster.

Re: Irony on The Gaming Den
Imagine that.
I wonder who started those threads?
Also check how often anyone posts [/i]anything[/i] in "In The Trenches". That's even funnier.
Well, the real reason for the double thread phenomenon was that after gathering some info on "Blaster Mage" builds for a character of mine in the Trenches, I realized that blasters need both better spells (which Prak covered previously) and the means to enhance old spells.
Hence the Improved part.
I even hope that feat or something very similar gets a part in an upcoming Tome some day, rather than just another dissertation by Frank on how much Evocation sucks.
Edit; found something even weirder, maybe I'll make a topic about this unless someone else has previously...

Katanas
As odd as it sounds, any and all threads about Katanas (the Japanese sword) were banned for a week or two after a particularly vicious flame war over them. It is a long standing rift, apparently, with one side believing it was the greatest sword ever made, and the other side saying it wasn't. Points and counter points are always made, with neither side giving nor gaining ground to the point all those involved just got frustrated and started lashing out directly at the other posters. It has happened many times, and after the last big one, a "cool down" period was instituted via a temporary ban of the topic. It is once again alright to discuss katanas, but remember, its gotten out of hand before and been banned, and it could be banned again if it continues to get out of hand.[/quote]
I find that one of the funniest things about any forum.
Rules discouraging discussion of katanas?

Tome of Tiamat would've covered blasting, there's even a blasty-mage class in the TOT teaser.

I'm of the firm opinion that once you understand the fundamental concept behind the katana flame wars that you have discovered an interesting bit of trivia into the soul of the online gaming community that ... well frankly isn't even interesting to the online gaming community never mind the world at large but it still sounds really cool.
People can debate how well a real katana could cut but make no mistake, a vicious katana debate can cut real deep, even to the point of being vorpal at times.
Katanas from Japan, Damascus blades from the Middle East, they are all good, but if you want surgical quality cutting weapons nothing outdid the most primitive material of the ancient world; Central American obsidian blades.

A razor sharp wit is better, a weapon so exotic that not only do I suffer a -4 penalty for it being too large but another -4 for not even being proficient in it.
And that's in my main hand.
True though, the deepest cuts are from the most blunt and dull of all debaters.
Calibron: Where is that teaser located? I've probably saved the thread before but please show me, just in case.

Don't know exactly. I'm pretty sure it's in one of the Tomes.

Ideally you want your weapons to be made from the hardest metal: Dragonforce.

Consider that instead of a better pepper spray, the Japanese are developing life size prints of vending machines to flip up from their skirts to camouflage on the streets, the whole nation's becoming more and more ninja every minute. Makes sense to me.

I do believe I have the better japan-related news article
Or at least the better title.

Oh! The irony of it! Considering what a large portion of Japanese porn is made from!

I have to say, that's the best headline I've ever seen. The only thing it lacks is ninjas. Can anyone find a story about porn bandits fighting ninjas?
Re: Irony on The Gaming Den
See... The vending machine turns out to be a ninja girl in disguise...
