I think there is a greater desire to see derailment than there is an actual derailment.

(two more posts on derailment and there will be as many derailment posts than actual derailing posts).

Once you hit half a dozen or so coherent off-topic posts in a row the spirit of the thread has significantly altered and it most likely will not return to form without mod intervention or a number of new posters who didn't bother reading through the entire thread.

I feel this thread can safely be declared derailed, except that our calling attention to that fact could create a desire, conscious, or subconscious, to rebel against the current activity and return to form. So honestly it's still up in the air at this point, but only because of the side effects of the three of us commenting on the derailment. Aren't human interactions fun?:thumb:

I don't agree that furries are inherently disgusting, I find a lot of anthropomorphic art beautiful, a lot of stuff associated with us is very disgusting, but the concept of anthropomorphization of animals has existed for thousands of years before the internet opened it up to its current market and turned it into one big revolting orgy, for the most part; furries, at least those who chiefly designate themselves as such, seem to be inherently neurotic though. I also don't find derailing annoying, it opens up new channels of thought and discussion.

As for furries; heck even men with enough dark hair on them that it starts to obscure their skin (my arm hair tends to be thin and light) and who has more chest hair than head hair unnerves me a lot.

That's just a logistics error. If humans had kept their prehensile tails, modern chair would be build to accommodate. Hell, some chairs can already support a human sized tail, by accident.

Loafing wouldn't change, so couches would be just as comfortable.

Trust me, you can use modern chairs with a tail; it merely needs a normal amount of flexability - unlike a stabilizing tail.

Artwork depicting the beautification or idealization of humanoid anthropomorphic animals predates there even being human beings on Asia so yeah. I don't have a clue where the idea that anthropomorphic animal=rotten and wrong.

Something Awful's goons are more famous for their hatred of furs, but that doesn't necessarily mean they're the progenitors. Internets history isn't really my best subject.

My friend had an insight some months back, all the internet communities, and I use the term community loosely, like something awful and the chans exist mostly just to hate each other, but the one thing they have in common is that they hate Fchan the most; which, those of you who have been their should be able to attest, is at the very least understandable.

Being Transhumanist, I just don't get body-based discrimination. We'll be able to change humans to fvcking spaceships in less than 50 years. Who gives a flying fvck about somebody having a tail or whatever?

In any case, I'll third tails. They are awesomely useful for balance, look cool and count as a third "hand" despite being weak. Very useful. And there are ways around the chair problem. You can wrap it around your waist or even sit on your foot (seiza, lotus or something similar).
