I went to evergreen because it sounded cool, and the out of state tuition was a cheap as my local university.
I moved back to Minnesota because my girlfriend is going to school here, and (as you said) classes at Evergreen aren't that...rigorous.
I'm still probably going to go back there for my senior year (or possibly the last quarter of my senior year, whenever that comes) so that I don't have to worry about what classes I've taken to get a degree. If that works out, I will have sucessfully Min/Maxed my education
I miss Olympia for the climate and the 10,000 teriyaki shops, but there is no way I could get my girlfriend to go either there (she has the same complaints as you, and is neurosci major) or UW ($$$).
