E:tP Adventure Ideas

Bearding the Tiger:

So, Acheron, place of giant metal cubes that armies engage in battle across for control. We all know that, I just wanted to run a small adventure here that my PCs could use as a means to get their feet wet in my PbP game and learn to work as a team.

The premise is that they've been hired by a local Earl (specifically Earl Saul Aedlaar) to help him perform a ritual of empowering (of himself).

The Ritual involves the candidate to enter a massive underground temple dedicated to a feline-looking war goddess (pm me for what she really is).

The only legitimate candidates that can approach the central throne room and without any aid wrestle with her for at least a minute are given her boon, as long as they promise to send a portion of any treasure earned to her temple (there's a teleport objects platform near the entrance that offerings are placed upon).

The problem is that while a powerful individual can enter, they won't be accepted as a legitimate candidate as the candidate has to enter and pass through the temple without harming any of her creatures or constructs.

Usually this is bypassed by having a band of trusted bodyguards or retainers that while will die if they tried to wrestle with the War Goddess, are able to deal with the monsters and traps meant to slay the unworthy.

This is where the PCs come in, they are supposed to escort Earl Saul Aedlaar (11th lvl ) (and his Master of Spies Furth (lvl 8-10) and his Confessor Wanna (lvl 8-10)) to the centre of the complex, past gauntlet hallways full of golems, across chasms, killing various undead ('donated' bodies that were 'former tithes' and are now animated) and feline-themed monsters (i.e. monsters that simply look like giant cats or cat-like things). The NPCs aren't allowed to engage in combat in case their Earl is killed and one of them can still seal the ritual and then bring their ressurected master to have it performed upon him. They will help the PCs in non-offense ways, if they can.

Now, of course House Aedlaar isn't without enemies and an other contingent of adventurers seek to escort Viscount Thaura of House Padot and his retinue and bodyguards.

So, the PCs will be either ahead and then have the House Padot squad try to run past a combat that they are in, or perhaps help them fight the twenty admantine golems of the black gallery or break a bridge behind them so that the House Padot crew is stuck and has to take an alternate route.

Stuff like that.

Ideas for test rooms or monsters would be appreciated; it's for 6 lvl 6-7 PCs. Some really dangerous rooms (20 fvcking golems whose DR is 15/....? something? and swing 2-8 times each?) would also be good ideas, but lvl 6 dungeon monsters.
The Gaming Den; where Mathematics are rigorously applied to Mythology.

While everyone's Philosophy is not in accord, that doesn't mean we're not on board.
