Spellcraft and Illusion spells

Frank has mentioned before that Illusionists are definitely the strongest specialist wizards out there if there's a player who knows how to use those spells creatively to the point where mirror image and the invisibility spells are among the weakest in that particular school. We've also established that so far, only one spell can make spells from the Illusion school that aren't shadow spells nigh useless.
My question is this: how do opposing wizards who successfully spellcraft the illusion spells react towards the illusion? What about their companions? Can the opposing wizard who just successfully spellcrafted the major image yell to his companions that it's not real, giving them a bonus to their saving throws when they interact with it? Or do they just disbelieve it on the spot? How do you guys handle it?
Any response would be helpful. Thanks
