I do like the art upgrade, although I don't know why anyone says the animation in the old one was better (if it was any worse, it'd be completely unwatchable).

They might be remembering the old opening titles, which are extremely slick; and not the actual running footage, which is indeed quite shoddy.

onnudo chinna oobundhuh oddu kutthi mayaru romba perisa irrika - your tiny dick has quite a lot of large [EDITED] hairs.

I've been told that the irish insults in that article are so grammatically incorrect to be incoherent.

So I watched Young Justice, a new Justice League spin-off.

It's kind of terrible, and yet I watched every episode.

Well, they are Irish....

I'll be more specific. I've been told by Gaelic speakers that the insults on the cracked.com article that are in Gaelic aren't actually proper Gaelic and don't actually mean anything at all.

Oh, well that doesn't really surprise me. The Cracked writers probably just did a search, and used google translate as necessary, and we all know how reliable that can be...

On another note, today's OotS was strangely satisfying. Perhaps it's because V got back to a type of joke prevalent in older stories, perhaps because it shows that there is, in fact, one intelligent member of the Linear Guild.

I'm watching "The Blind side." It's a decent movie. That isn't the part that makes this rock to me.

I'm watching this movie with my five-year-old daughter.

It's interesting to explain homelessness and the idea of people who have no family. She takes to the idea and seems to understand it at what it sounds like. I can't really expect her to get the emotional response of whatever sort. The TV has her transfixed, as usual. But slowly I see her understand understand the top molecular skein of the top peel of this onion.

She seems happy when she sees the good things happening to the family.

I have a horrible weakness for shows with that animation style. Apparently, my brain associates them with Batman and Teen Titans and registers it as something awesomer than it actually is.

Is the second [half of the first?] season of that out yet?

Rise of the Planet of the Apes is excellent. You should go see it.

It really is. My friend and I were debating how much of the pre-juicing ape behaviour was realistic. I maintain that even
the gorilla not immediately killing Caesar at it's first opportunity
was perfectly reasonable ape behaviour. There are also some neat shout outs if you've any knowledge on the various studies of apes.

Oh, and I've officially dubbed the Orangutan "The Librarian." Alternatively, "Dr. Zaius."

I have trouble believing this. The trailers have made it look like a joke. Or maybe that was just me and I'm too cynical.

It was just you, DSM. The trailers, or at least one or two of them, were amazing.

This one, in particular.

That one does look a lot more believable. The clips I'd seen were playing up the violence part, making it look like a film about a violent, super-intelligent ape revolution, which is a stupid premise.

Yeah, the trailers we are getting in Australia look retarded. Fully half the length of the trailer is dedicated to these bizarre scenes of apes with spears taking out men with shotguns as the primary focus, and that's a dumb.

Actually, the apes with spears part was pretty awesome, in my opinion. But I've seen the full movie, where it was probably executed a lot better than in the trailer.

The trailer it's just apes doing a WWI change against a machine gun and not dying. Which offends my senisibilities, having seen Gallilopi.

In the movie, it's super smart apes attacking a battalion of police from three directions (head on, from above, and from below), coming out of the fog, and some apes do in fact die. I imagine not more died (on screen) because it's a lot of apes, and only a few machine guns, iirc, so bullets are more spread out amongst some pretty tough targets.

The new Chinese Ghost Story movie is OK.

Ignore the trailers, they're just trying to make it out to be SUMMER ACTION BLOCKBUSTER, and stay through the credits.
The 2 things I liked best about the movie was that it called out humanity on our total inability to have a cohesive method for recognizing non-human intelligences as equals, and it presented the idea that the Planet of the Apes was not of the ape's own making. They didn't take the planet so much as inherit it.

I was WizO_Pony....

I love how in Pokemon Leaf/Fire, the ghosts in Pokemon Tower will always use Curse very early on, so my captured ghost can hit them with an attack, then the opponent uses curse and loses half it's health, and then I can hit it again, and grind xp on pokemon of the same level because the AI is dumb.
