Rifts madness

Post:
Ok, so, through an interesting series of events I've done the following things in making a character:

I want to know if I'm breaking any actual rules, and if this accurate, and finally there are some questions that I have.
  1. Picked a Godling
  2. Was allowed to sell my Lesser Rune Weapon (4-8 mill BM value) for 7mill Credits. So now, budget is not a big deal for a single person's gear.
  3. Godlings can get (Any) weapon profieciencies; and start off with 3. I picked up WP Archaic Sword, WP Energy Rifles and WP Heavy MDC Weapons.
  4. Godlings can also pick (Any) Hand to Hand style. I picked Hand to Hand: Ninjutsu (Rifts Japan); it gives the Paired Weapons skill/weapon proficency for free.

    Image
  5. For my related and secondary skills, I get Weapon Profiency (any) as an option. I've selected WP Sharpshooting (Energy Rifles).

    Image
  6. I selected the first ability, to use 2-handed guns in one hand
  7. For an other skill proficiency slot, I spent I got Sharpshooter again in order to buy the ability to be able to fire while on the back of a horse or when riding a vehicle
Questions:

I can now use two rifles, one in each hand now?

When riding on the back of say a.... Kyythgorian Pegasus

Image

Am I'm also able to shoot without penalties?

Because right now, this is looking like a very shooty combo.

Note:

Other options include knowing every spell every time I level (Godling spell access works this way. I've got spellcasting the way Shifter and Ley Line Walker do.

Suppsedly I also am supposed to have their class abilities (which I'm not sure about if I should be getting) but not skills (which not having is logical).

Also, Godlings have really high stats. As well as a very high base PPE pool (it's larger than the Line Walkers; making someone who was a Godling who chose a spell-casting flavor like Warlock, or an other class with pre-made lists of spells suddenly have massive PPE pools for their already cheap spells).

The character also has two Gurgolye NPCs that drive a hover Rhino (storm-bolters, grenade launchers, las-rifles and even a Machine Spirit, of sorts).
Speed: up to 90kph
Hovers: from 30-200cm
MDC by location:
-Main hull 300
-Armoured crew compartment 200
-Hover Pads (6) 20
-Thruster 30
-Assault Hatch 100
-Cupola 20
-Turret 30
-Sponsons (2) 20
-Searchlights (2) 5

It has an advanced Comms system with a 1km radius, as well as 10 loaded smoke launchers. Additionally, it is powered by a nuclear device with 20 years of life. It has 4 E-clip ports to plug in (as well as points for computers and stuff), to charge them up at the rate of 20% per hour. Also it has an advanced nano-repair machine that can regenerate 10 MDC per minute, and enough material to repair a total of 200 MDC.

The assault hatch at the front has frag-launchers, unleashing 4 fragmentation grenades (with 20 loaded in) that basically clear a 10m area in front of the hatch and dealing 3d6 MD to everything in the area.

The cupola has a viewing port that can be sealed, and also a small video camera (1 MDC), and has a storm bolter mounted on it with 200 rounds in a drum.

Storm Bolter: 100m range, fires 4-round bursts that deal 6d6 MD and have a 10% chance per 6 rolled of knocking the target prone if they are Medium sized. +20% per size smaller, -20% per size larger.

The main turret can have the sniper weapon attached, I guess.

The side-sponsons have Hell-Pattern Laser Rifles: 250m range, single-shot only, connected to the power supply for infinite ammo, deals 4d6 MD. Has a 10% chance of half of this bypassing armour and forcefields, or a 50% chance if a natural 15+ is rolled to hit. Automatic on a nat 20.

Also has comfortable seats with harnesses for 10 crew + pilot and co-pilot, a music player, air-conditioning, internal lighting, a small drink machine and an advanced navigator system. Also has limited storage capacity, coming with 2 basic medikits, a fire extinguisher, trenching tools, camo netting and 5 flares.
Notes on where my stats came from, yes, it's a fucking mess:

Description:
Notes on Description, and an explanation
[Note:This was actually really hard to write. I ended up using the idea that the 'ideal' human would look not like any one specific race, but rather a composite of every single best feature that a human male could have. I got this idea from several articles that I've read discussing why people of mixed ancestry end up looking really good, and how the use of photo-editing and morphing software can be used to create a 'composite model' using multiple models facial features, and then averaging them together into a final product has been used to create ideal (and inhumanly so) models.

Seriously, this character has Physical Beauty stat is higher than either Freya or Aphrodite, both of whom are goddesses of love and beauty.

This character makes people even moderately attracted to humanoid males going to give him their attention. This is as good as it is bad. Especially since this character doesn't want to be that noticable.]

A male human, about six feet tall, and fairly lean looking. He looks like a blend of most human ethnicities in terms of skin tone (brown, but weather this is from tanning or natural pigmentation is had to tell). His hair seems to be of every colour that humans can naturally have hair. Red, black, brown, blonde and even white are all evenly distributed among the strands of the hair that reaches the middle of his back. He has no really notable scars, just a few faint ones here and there.

His face is like almost every other human males, insofar that it looks like it is a composite of the features that a moderately good looking man's face could have. A long, straight nose, a solid chin, thick eyebrows, wide eyes, thick lips, wide set of jawbones that give the head a just slightly rectangular appearance, but not a long face, and a broad forehead that neither bulges nor slopes.

He wears a black metal chest armour sculpted to look like a muscular chest; one sword handle behind each shoulder, two rather large thigh holsters with guns to fill them; arms and legs are pretty much bare, except for black straps that wrap around the calves and feet, and fingerless leather gloves.

Iggy wears the pieces of what was once a much fuller suit of armour. He wears a molded piece of chest armour made to look as if it were human torso muscles. The armour is made of black metal and only covers his chest, arms and shoulders. Two thick dark brown straps come down across the shoulders, each crossing to the hip of the opposite side, making a large x over the chest of the armour.

His legs seem to be bare except for a pair of stained dark shorts that reach his knees. The handles of two very heavy looking handguns sticking out of the tops of thigh holsters. His feet are also pretty much bare except for a thick black band that crisscrosses and wraps his calves down to his feet. Like some sort of very minimalist foot wrapping, more like something to help his feet grip the ground.

Crossed across his back are a pair of mis-matched swords. One is a slightly curved blade in a black laquered wood, something ancient, perhapes Wapanese, or an anceient Weeaboo-style blade. Then again, "Weeaboo" and "Wapanese" are the only remaining Post-Cataclysm english words for this style of weapon. Who knows how badly the original names have been corrupted over the last several hundred years, both before, and after the coming of the Rifts.

The other weapon, if one could call it that, is an obviously modern high-tech melee tool. It has a weapon handle and cowlind much larger than any standard vibor-blade; extending nearly all the way along the back of the blade. The large flat, rectangular 'blade' is neither sheathed, nor does the sheet of metal even look like it is sharpened. This weapon is held in place with metal clips that are attached to one of the pair of baldricks that criss-cross his torso.

If the clothes make the man, then one would assume that this is some grizzled looking veteran, obviously capable at using both melee or ranged weapons. It is not.

One is almost certain that if the man began to recruit women as soldiers (and probably any creature that is attracted to humanoid males), he would have no trouble getting the numbers of people needed. At the same time, such a face seems almost like it was impossible.

Both extremely young, and old looking, the man's face looked like it could be any age. No wrinkles, pockmarks, spots, lumps or bumps are anywhere on his face, an impossibility for almost anyone. The faintest lines around his eyes are the only visible wrinkles or lines on his face.

Large pale eyes that seem to be very alert and awake look outward. The colours of the eyes seem to made of the colour of everyone else' iris, from pale brown to deep blue. The eyes look ancient and knowing, and yet the flesh around them seems almost preternaturally smooth.

There are scars, three long thin lines that go up and down his right cheek, each line in parallel with its kin; probably the claws of something. On the left side of his face, faint lines that criss-cross where the side of his head and forehead meet.

Even then, the scars didn't make him look much more rugged, or grim. On such a youthful looking face, they made him look even delicate when he smiles, or possibly fierce if he snarled.

That was his just his face, but really, he had no visible problems in his appearance. His long hair reached to the middle of his back, and seemed like it was a mix of many, no all, colours. Its hue and colour seem shift imperceptibly, coppery brown, blood red, hints of brushed gold and jet black, and even a few white hairs.

Whatever else wasn't covered in armour or clothing seemed like it was carved out stone, and every group of muscles is visibly identifiable. If you looked past the blocky, solid, calves, even the line seperating the calf muscle up and down was visible. On his arms, the back of his forearms had three disctinct groups visible. It was like looking at a study in muscular anatomy, except that in this model, the skin barely hid the muscles below.

His barely covered feet softly pad along the ground, and thick veins were visible all up and down the length of his bare arms, with only a pair of fingerless leather gloves covering the palms and backs of his hands.

However, for all these well defined muscles, he wasn't hulking. He definitely seemed strong, but he looked very lean.
Combat: Tends to use firearms and melee weapons, a little bit of Psionics; tends to not use his magic powers unless necessary, or is sure that they will not be noticed. This is mostly to make sure that people both underestimate him, as well as to not frighten most people that he meets.

Enemies : Hostile members of the Pantheon, rival pantheons supernatural beings in general, and, the forces of evil

Summary so far, that I didn't put in Meike's thread.

Rifts can be fun, but the game only works with enforced tiers of power. I'm playing a Godling who's smart enough to outwit Ahriman, all the Splugorth and the Khreeghor empire combined; good looking enough to tempt any love goddess; cold-blooded enough to watch every single person being flayed alive in an instant, and have a decent chance of not losing his composure; and powerful enough to bring back the dead back to life without it costing him severely.

He's also got the training and wherewithal to take down enemies in mega-damage armour and not kill them; something like 6 people at a time; and their armours have the equivalent touchness of a modern day tank.

Plus... other stuff. Like a crew of dopehead Gurgoyles, and a philosopher alien pegasus that lugs around a hellishly over-powered anti-tank energy rifle.

Mind you, I accidentally realized after a few weeks of character creation that I've come to the nearest Rifts equivalent of creating the God Emperor of mankind ((albeit with no hate for aliens, mutants, non-demon supernatural beings (sub-demons don't count, since they're violent, but not evil) or magic users; psykers are accepted by most humans, even nazi racist humans, so that doesn't count)).

So I've come to grips with accepting this mary-sue character; they can be a great force for good, and that's handy b/c it gives me a moral high ground when playing and powergaming the character. I'm actually working on his limitations more than on powergaming him in game. He's sneaky, and cunning, but killing isn't on the top of his list, and attacking people first isn't part of his MO (although demolition of structures is ok with him, just no killing). His ressurections thus far have been of enemy soldiers. Mind you, these ress'd soldiers still count as casualties, so I'm going to ask them to join my personal army. Mostly b/c the PCs didn't do the killing.

On the complete other end of the spectrum, I'm playing a cryogenically stored human that a Genesplicer "woke up" for a series of "experiments" (read 80's cartoon evil villan death traps). It's more puzzle solving than anything else, but it's still interesting.

I'm actually equally interested in both games. Of course, it should be noted that in the first game, the GM "suggested" that I play a Godling that has the powers of a Ley Line Walker (Wizard), Shifter (Dimensional Wizard that makes deals with powerful supernatural intelligences, demons or gods) and Super Psychic (well, 5 special powers, and a laundry list of "I can sense things" powers, which include "you can't tell I'm a psychic/mage" "you can't see/control/affect my mind -EVER-" "control mechanical device, even tanks, or planes, perfectly with no training").

It should also be noted that the other PCs in the high powered game are uh... stuff. A guy that turns into a being of pure-damage (if touched); a guy with every psychic power in the game (normal and super! O_o), and his tiger-sized "Dragon Cat"; an immortal human (from the past?), with two massive APCs (and robots); a juicer warrior fueled by the magic of dragon blood (Dragon Juicer); and uhm.... a... Spider Mutant, Psi-stalker, Juicer Assasin (I'm missing at least one of this character's several races and classes).

The two juicers have this game that they want to play that involves spike studded balls. That are also grenades with an indeterminate timer, or something like that. Both of them are also seriously tough enough to soak a tank shell to the chest (I know for a fact that the spider-girl is tougher than my own character by a factor of at least 2, if not 4; however she doesn't have a regeneration speed that lets her stand back up after 10 minutes of losing most of her Mega-Damage Capacity). One has like... 4 extra arms, and the other can wrestle dragons and drink their blood as food if she wanted to.

The Immortal Human likes to mind-spy on people (including team mates, mind block auto-defense was handy there; sort of. =/).

The Neo-Human Psychic already turned the first fight into an auto-win by simply mind-controlling the largest of two enemy tanks that were facing us.

The Rahu-man who turns into solid fire...stuff (?) I don't know much about. Since he's not a chatty bitch like yours truly. He got impressed by the ressurections though, so that's cool. Also, I can't touch him when he's in "battle mode." However, he's a Rahu-man, so I'm sure that it's cool (oh man I've even got my character's hubris planned out too, in case I'm wrong).

Shatters-Heaven, the demon whose return has been foretold
Overall History: Wan Lei Yu is the product of poor Chung Dou's desperate measures to
prevent a terrible prophecy from coming true. Chung Dou, an alchemist in the Shooting-
Jade-Grass Society, had been perplexed and troubled by the astrological readings coming his
way. The Society had existed for a long time, marginalized for its adherence to the belief
than an ancient prophecy of the return of the demon Shatters-Heaven, a prophecy otherwise
discounted and discredited by several generations of astrologers and fortune-tellers. Of
course, the Shooting-Jade-Grass Society was happy enough with that since their ancient method
was devised to strike suddenly to prevent the return of the demon: like sedentary grass,
overlooked and forgotten, suddenly turned into deadly jade arrows.

Well, the Society had just been given an ancient, rediscovered bamboo scroll that made the
last three centuries of waiting and preparing almost irrelevant: apparently the one destined
to confront Shatters-Heaven (the prophecies were vague on the result of the battle) was not
supposed to be "borne of yellow hair" but actually "borne of yellow fur". To say that he was
embarrassed would be an understatement: for centuries they had been training blond gweilo
white devils in mystic arts and secret martial arts to prepare for the defeat of Shatters-Heaven...
for no apparent purpose other than giving secrets to the wrong people and cultivating great
contacts overseas. The Society didn't really put a lot of merit into the scroll ("it might
just be a bad transcription") but to placate the nae-sayers they put Chung Dou in charge of
alchemizing up some sort of yellow-furred badass.

The cauldron that he used was supplied with all manner of stolen animals, again to the
embarrassment of anyone that actually knew the details. Chung Dou's 'Mystical Bath of
Awakening the Five Meridians and Six Senses' mostly managed to turn a menagerie of exotic
animals into slime: lions, lionesses, foxes, wild dogs, a few oddly-colored badgers, a
platypus... and then, finally, Wan Lei Yu.

The weasel had fallen into the soup while rummaging through Chang Dou's lab. It was a fact
that Chang Dou failed to reveal to the Society, since apparently it had been his first real
success.

As with all the other potential saviors, Wan Lei Yu was put through a harsh regime of training.
Unlike most of his predecessors, Wan Lei Yu thrived rather than fail only to be lied to ("you
have passed all our tests, now go back to America and await our signal"), kept as a contact
and encouraged to make money and send it back to the Society. No, Wan Lei Yu was apparently
the badass they had been waiting for.

They cashed in a lot of favors for that weasel. Sure, most the Society didn't think it was
really worth it but no one could argue with Wan Lei Yu's skill. When it came time to teach him
the secrets of martial arts, the ones that were still hoping for a human savior sent him off to
the most remote, meanest bastard they could find: White Skeleton, to learn Cotton Fist Boxing.
Training took 17 damn years of cruel beatings, spared only by the Society's "vacations" wherein
Wan Lei Yu would be taken off for six months of intense training in guerilla war, or breaking-
and-entering (the demon Shatters-Heaven was said to maintain a cadre of faithful who awaited his
return, and that the savior would have to fight them!), or some other destructive past-time.

Through it all, Wan Lei Yu kept his cheer. Somehow, he seemed programmed for a happy-go-lucky
nature and nothing could deter him. White Skeleton thought little of him but owed the Society
and was happy to clear his favor off the books, and he was happy to teach someone so talented.
White Skeleton's chief disciple, Five Emerald Oxen, totally hated Wan Lei Yu. Why wouldn't he?
Some tiny weasel thing had just waltzed in and was quickly mastering the style. Of course he
hated him.

Once the training was done, the prophecies foretold that for whatever reason Wan Lei Yu needed
to be "sent to (the campaign city)". He has the sneaking suspicion that he's being treated
just like the rest of the failures that the Society had to deal with, but at least they hooked
him up with a place to stay and a job.

So now, Wan Lei Yu works at the Happy Garden Noodle House, making noodles and tofu and
dispensing Taoist advice and martial arts training, "waiting for the call". He has no idea
what to make of it all.

Also, I highly, HIGHLY recommend everyone play a good, long campaign of Street Fighter: the Storytelling Game.

It's my favorite RPG for the reasons the insane GM likes Rifts. Whee!

Koumei aquired a copy of that game book, as in, like yesterday, which makes your post very coincidental.

She said something along the lines of not being fit to wipe her rear with.

Correction, it is what comes out of the rear of creatures. I guess that it's close enough for a misunderstanding to occur.

What are your opinions on Steet Fighter: forever Two?

The best thing about the Street Fighter game is the picture of Chun Li on page... 19, I think? It's hilarious. It looks like she'd be making the kind of noise Guile makes when KOd.

Or possibly the fact that M. Bison Lord Vega runs an organisation called the New World Order. Yes, that's right, it's not enough that Mage tied into it, now Lord Vega is in league with Kevin Nash, Sting and Hollywood Hogan.

I'd photoshop some image for this, but it's seriously not worth the effort.

Not mine. Sadly, I got into wrasslin fairly late on - towards the end of the Attitude Era, so my hero was Stone Cold Steve Austin.

My wrestling phase didn't last for very long. I really liked Brock Lesnar and Kurt Angle until I realized that the former was an enormous douche and the latter is out of his mind. But what sealed the deal was... ugh. Okay, remember the Wrestlemania where Christ Benoit fought HHH and HBK and he fukken won? Totally made up for the fact that Goldberg and Lesnar had one of the biggest epic fails on television. Anyway, it was one of the most exciting things I've ever seen on television and I watched with rapt interest as he held the belt and formed an alliance with Shelton Benjamin and... and...

Well, fuck all that. I stopped watching after Benoit lost the title belt and Eugene got a big push. I mean, I knew it would happen, but the gravy train was over and it was back to the retardedness. Literally this time, though.

Then there was the Benoit murder-suicide and now I have no interest in watching wrestling ever again. I can't even bring myself to play a WWE wrasslin' video game. Sadness.

Your freedom to add and change rules in the middle of the game is in direct conflict with my ability to understand that rules system before I decided whether or not to join your game.

In short, your entire post is dismissive of not merely my intelligence, but my agency. And I don't mean agency as a player within one of your games, I mean my agency as a person. You do not want me to be informed when I make the fundamental decisions of deciding whether to join your game or buying your rules system.

She said something along the lines of not being fit to wipe her rear with.

Correction, it is what comes out of the rear of creatures. I guess that it's close enough for a misunderstanding to occur.

What are your opinions on Steet Fighter: forever Two?
SF:tSG is a totally awesome game. It remains my favorite. I cannot understand why someone who likes stupid action and heavy tactical combat would just not nerdgasm over this.

Oh well.

I have no idea what SF:F2 is.
