Now i am pretty sure that nobody would actually complain about something like that but i can't help but wonder how copyright/infringement would be handled in such cases . .

Peculiar properties of spacetime ensure that the perception of the magnitude of Soon is fluid and dependent, not on an individual's time-reference, but on spatial and cultural location. A marketer generally perceives Soon as a finite, known, yet unspeakable time-interval; to a fan, the interval appears greater, and may in fact approach the infinite, becoming Never. Once the interval has passed, however, a certain time-lensing effect seems to occur, and the time-interval becomes vanishingly small. We therefore see the strange result that the same fragment of spacetime may be observed, in quick succession, as Soon, Never, and All Too Quickly.
Of course people would complain if he didn't pay. It's someone job to complain.
But venues have standard contracts with the licensing companies, this artist might do a random cover, we'll pay agreed standard fees, bla bla bla, and another one with the artist to pay for it himself. You agree that if you do covers the venue pays you less to the extent it costs the venue money, mofo.

He jumps like a damned dragoon, and charges into battle fighting rather insane monsters with little more than his bare hands and rather nasty spell effects conjured up solely through knowledge and the local plantlife. He unerringly knows where his goal lies, he breathes underwater and is untroubled by space travel, seems to have no limits to his actual endurance and favors killing his enemies by driving both boots square into their skull. A few sessions ago in DCC we found a room full of corpses and creepy masks, and a plurality of us rushed in and put on masks. Sadly no curses.Maxus wrote:Saw this on twitter yesterday, someone's gathered it up.

So Alien: Covenant is pretty lousy overall -- but I did find it nerd-hilarious that it included a scene where the two androids argue over what exactly they dream of.

I have complex feelings on Dune. I can see the importance of it, the sort of ground it broke, and the stuff on Arrakis' ecology was really well done, but I also can see how far things have come since then.OgreBattle wrote:I just finished the first Frank Herbert Dune book, it's an amazing piece of art that covers a diverse array of themes.
Man I wish Jodorowsky got to do his Dune movie
Plus, the characters. I once wrote Dune Abridged, which is somewhere around on these hallowed forums. A recurring gag was "And then they got stoned and passed out grooving to the colors".

I thoroughly enjoyed the remake of It. I wasn't sure how I liked Skarsgård's portrayal of Pennywise at first, but it grew on me. A few visual effects I liked:
Also, Richie's endless stream of dick/your mom jokes and swearing were a nice touch.
- The rows of fish-like teeth it has when getting ready to feed.
- When getting ready to feed, its eyes roll back, similar to a shark's.
- The whole portrait lady scene, where Stan fixes a crooked picture of a very unsettling portrait. The woman in the portrait has pure white eyes and no mouth, as well as a misshapen head. The picture falls, and when he hangs it back up, it's just a portrait of the background. Cue the woman from the portrait emerging from the shadows behind him, and a smile of those same fish-like teeth appearing on her face.

I have to agree, took my eldest niece to see it and it's a great production. All the child actors were excellently cast and gave terrific performances, there were some great lines, effects were a nice mix that were well-executed, and they left out the child gang-bang entirely. My only quibble is that, being a big ensemble piece, they sometimes seemed to struggle to give all the kids enough bits, but I think they pulled it off fairly well.
