User made map of After Sundown faction territories

Post by Judging__Eagle »

I know that there was a digitally roughed in map of Earth and it's syndicate territory breakdown; but I'm having trouble finding it. I've tried the in-forum search, and the google search, options, even attempts at using Site:tgmb.com restricted GIS to find the image, haven't led me to it.

Does anyone recall who posted/made the image; or know the actual post it was originally in?

I think AH posted it.

I made one back when AS was aWoD and posted it in that thread: https://docs.google.com/document/pub?id ... aKjVHKSPWM

I think someone else made a more recent one; it was probably prettier than mine but the content was reasonably similar.

Frank, I don't know if you've seen Lucha Underground, but I can't impress upon you enough how important it is to me that Mil Muertes and Catrina expies end up running Boyle Heights, Los Angeles.

I mean, just look at these assholes:

I live in Europe these days and was unaware of Lucha Underground. They certainly have the right dramatic flair. Do they have super powers I should be aware of?

Honestly; either map is fine, I just wanted a rough idea of what is where without having to read and recreate it on a map. I'll have to look through Ancieng History's posts then.

I'm building an map for an After Sundown campaign, using dodecahedronal globe in 3DS Max using the Dymaxion projection; with subdivisions into triangles/hexes (and hopefully I'll figure out how to correctly import heightmap data correctly; instead of painting monochrome heightmaps by hand).

Contains Lucha Underground spoilers;
Mil Muertes is basically the Mexican* Undertaker. He's a relentless brute who survived(?) the Mexico City earthquake as a small child but lost his family in the process. He supposedly relies on a stone from the accident site as his power source. Interestingly, that relic is typically in the possession of his on-again-off-again manager, Catrina.

Catrina is a capricious sadist who uses her breasts Magnetism to fuck with people for no good reason. She does this creepy/suggestive thing where she licks people after Mil Muertes has beaten the ever living shit out of them. She is said to have resurrected Mil Muertes following his loss in a casket match.

If you straight ported the characters I'd say Mil Muertes is a Reborn, Animate or Revenant and Catrina is a Baali necromancer who has devised an alternate means of charging up Mil Muertes via a stone fetter. Their relationship should be mutually beneficial in theory but as is usually the case with monsters and professional wrestlers both parties are too crazy for the partnership to be very stable.

*Kayfabe only. The actor is actually Puerto Rican.

Lucha Underground thoughts/reply.
a stone fetter screams Fallen. Mil could have gone to Limbo during the upheaval of the earthquake. Catrina sounds like a Daeva (licking blood? magnetism) or Baali (ritually eating pain from losers) which gels with Mil also being Infernal.

For the record, I'm gonna discuss this in the AS expansion material thread after this post because that's where I originally meant to talk about it. I just failed the skill check because apparently I can't be trusted to day drink, watch wrestling and have multiple browser tabs open at the same time.

As far as power source goes, I know what you mean about the Ritual object but aesthetically I feel that it's more important to concentrate on Mil Muertes being Orphic themed.

Object representing a spiritual link to his dead family? Check.
Super Strength? Check.
Girlfriend who wears black and summons him from the realm of the dead? Check.

He's clearly a wraith and she's clearly a Khaibit.
What this says to me is that Wraiths need to join Witches under the umbrella of "Supernaturals that get lots of ala carte picks, but are otherwise entirely playable" and if Empty Body needs changed to accommodate that, so be it.

While I have yet to run After Sundown due to losing the end-of-campaign vote for who gets to run the next thing in my online group, I thought about this and decided Wraiths who had acquired Empty Body twice (i.e. could turn it off and on again, presumably being mode-locked one way or the other in sunlight) would not be shunted back into the Deep Gloom at sunrise, so that there could be playable Wraiths without them having to be the entirety or even the majority.

Still holds now it's on the brain again - it's hard to be playable if you can't even turn off your incorporeality.

There's actually a power for that. Compel Spirits lets you shunt yourself to/from Mictlan if you are personally a ghost. One of my players used that to great effect during our campaign. A playable wraith chassis looks something like:

Shadow Casting
Eyes of the Night

Patience of the Mountains
Vigor
Compel Spirits
Aura Perception

Empty Body
Cloak of Shadow
