Not necessarily. The PC port is notoriously terrible out-of-box, but once you download the DSfix mod it'll work pretty well (just be careful with ladders, elevators, and long jumps if you're playing in 60fps). Multiplayer also got patched to be done through Steamworks back in January, so you don't have to deal with the horror that is GFWL. The one big advantage the PC has over PS3 and Xbox is that Blighttown won't have framerate issues if you've got a sturdy enough rig. Blighttown is stutter-central on consoles.

?

I never had a problem with it. Never heard that about Blighttown (MOTHERFUCKING BLIGHT TOWN) but, who knows. I only did blight town the hard way once.

He jumps like a damned dragoon, and charges into battle fighting rather insane monsters with little more than his bare hands and rather nasty spell effects conjured up solely through knowledge and the local plantlife. He unerringly knows where his goal lies, he breathes underwater and is untroubled by space travel, seems to have no limits to his actual endurance and favors killing his enemies by driving both boots square into their skull. His agility is unmatched, and his strength legendary, able to fling about a turtle shell big enough to contain a man with enough force to barrel down a near endless path of unfortunates.

Back when I played on Xbox (before it bricked itself), I was getting about 10 or 15 FPS in Blighttown's upper level if the camera had too much to look at. In order for it to be playable, I basically had to look at the floor the whole time. I don't remember having trouble in any other area, but I also only got to Anor Londo on the Xbox.

I've seen enough people bitching on forums about it that I know it's not isolated.

I actually strongly recommend that people start with DS II on the PC, and then play Bloodborne or DS I after that.

People can say DS II is not as good, and that may be true, but it is good enough to be better than 90% of the games you play. Play it first, because it is the easiest, and simplest to figure out where the fuck you are going, and why, and then after you beat it, play DS I on PC, but with a controller, because DS Mousefix is actually still garbage, just less garbage.

Also, like is someone asked me "Do you think I should watch Game of Thrones or read Song of Ice and Fire first?" And I always answer: Are you going to do both? Because if you are going to do both, don't read first, because then the show will be garbage. Same with DS II, it is better if you do it first.

I've said Bloodborne reminds me of Castlevania, but damn that Cainhurst boss fight, I could imagine exactly how that would've looked in a 2D sidescroller.

Fuck that fight with a rake.

I had hitherto been able to outfight anything. I might die a few times, but eventually I would learn the enemy's moves and the holes in their attacks. And I just couldn't find anything with him.

I eventually had to resort to removing organs. There's only been one other bossfight I had to resort the gun to win. Fuck, that was a bad one.

See, I am the opposite of you, I never even start a boss fight without at least 60 quicksilver bullets, and then my first five, I pop the +5 thing, and then spend 25 bullets trying to learn the parry time of that boss. So I died to that boss once, because I ran out of bullets before I figured out all his parry times. But then I murdered his shit.

You've got a treat waiting for you with a couple of later bosses and some Chalice dungeon bosses. You can't stun them with the gun.

You can have the fuckrake after I'm done with it on Pthumeru Ithyll. It's enough I stopped playing for a day or two to cool down.

I've taken about a week off, and am currently in the middle of that chalice dungeon.

Fighting Rom in the Lower Pthumeru chalice has made me realized how much I actually hate this boss. It wasn't so bad in the mandatory fight mainly because I was able to blitz him and cause him to teleport away, letting me just leave his spider posse in the dust. Having to fight Rom in a closed off room makes that strategy moot.

Also, the Undead Giant with the sickle and hammer and chains killed me more times than was expected. The fight was pretty lame too since the optimal strategy ended up being to bait an attack and then poke. Very unsatisfying.

Yeah, I hate the shit out of that room.

How about that fucking dog, and also, that fucking dog, and also, that fucking dog. They never ever kill me, but they take forever and are so unfun.

That's the joy of the threaded cane. Having the Pthumerian descendant dash into a whip thrust feels satisfying in a manner you usually only get in 2D games.

Some kind of bloodborne patch in the last week and a half. Didn't reduce load times at all, but did put item descriptions up instead of that single word forever.

I've only played Bloodbourne once so far, I pretty much died atypically to the first enemy (because, like everyone else, I didn't simply gib him from behind). The one notable thing I can say, is I did some sequence breaking early on to get to the Forest/Giant Poison Mummy/zombies faster than I should've.

I'm playing the Waste of flesh + Blunderbluss +Sawcleaver. Seems like the coolio shotgun just sucks, and I should get a Pistol ASAP? I also found a sawspear, but it seems to suck compared to that default.

Glitchwise, I like how if ye play the game more than 12hours, the game shatters unto itself. Also, am I the only one who isn't bothered by the load times whatsoever? Even my friends who were there complained about it, while I didn't mind at all (must be all those times playing PS1-2 games).
What I find wrong w/ 4th edition: "I want to stab dragons the size of a small keep with skin like supple adamantine and command over time and space to death with my longsword in head to head combat, but I want to be totally within realistic capabilities of a real human being!" --Caedrus mocking 4rries

"the thing about being Mister Cavern [DM], you don't blame players for how they play. That's like blaming the weather. Weather just is. You adapt to it. -Ancient History

1) Loads: You may be okay with it because you are playing the updated one, so the changing pictures and words to read entertain you for longer loads. I tolerated many a Morroblivion Load for that reason.

2) Sequence breaking. If you tell me you stumbled on to that glitch your very first playthrough without someone pointing it out to you I will call you a fucking liar.

Pistol, blunderbuss, and most guns are meant for parrying and not damage, the cannon is a party to use though. With high blood tinge the cainhurst pistol Evelyn is strong.

Fighting the choir hunter made me realize how long threaded cane range is, as I am use to whipping shorter ranged hunters.

Nope, not at that time it wasn't, among the said friends one was very up to date on the patch notes, so we were looking at the blank screen of the games title. I'll have to see if I notice it being triple the speed it was, when I play it again.

As for the Cannon, I've been told how impractical it is, though it can be awesome sometimes.

One of my boss-killing items for a a while was the flamesprayer. It does good damage if you can catch something long enough to get a good burn on it (near as I can tell the damage is a DoT that stacks with itself).

I -like- the cannon, but never had much luck with using it. So I don't. Pistol for me, y0.

The flamesprayer is not a dot that is stacks with itself. It is better than that. It does multiplier damage and the multiplier stacks with itself, so if you used 25 bullets worth, at the end it would be doing something like 100times the damage it did the first second, if you hit it every second.

Well I finally beat the Moon Presence. Not to imply that the Moon Presence was a hard boss or anything, just that I finally got around to beating it and the game.

I also managed to get the Beast Claw out of Ailing Loran Layer 2, so I got the trophy for all weapons. Now I'm in NG+ and you're right, Maxus, it's not really that much more difficult than NG. I managed to take down the Cleric Beast before I quit.

I'm really happy Chalice Dungeon progress carries over to NG+. Gathering the Chalices again would have been a boring slog. I still need to beat Rom in Lower Pthumeru. I still hate that fucking fight. After getting divebombed by an off-screen spider I decided to say "fuck it" to that fight again.

The most fiendish trap the chalice dungeons have played on me is making me beat darkbeast paryl with 10000% and one shot kills, and that stupid old beggar monster 3 times just to be able to get a bloodrock.
