Fictional Fiction

Post by Username17 »

I don't know how many of you have seen this:

http://elothtes.pbwiki.com/

But
it's a wikpedia about a fictional setting that doesn't exist. It's fan fiction about a fictional fictional setting written by fictional characters. It was put up on Monday as a rough timeline, and already it's filled up with continuity and fan disagreements.

I don't know what it means about cooperative storytelling, but it means something.

Is this actually based on that Penny Arcade cartoon? Elemenstor and his ambulatory dresser? Wow. It must be unnerving to have legions of people out there that turn every turd you poop into an object of worship.

Still, it's not like they haven't used the Elemenstor thing before.

But, it's not the only Fictional Fiction this year: The producers of Lost announced that when characters on the show find the novel Bad Twin on the show this year - written by one of the passengers - we will be able to buy the book at bookstores around the country.

I'm still disenheartened to learn that Philip Jose Farmer and not Kurt Vonnegut was the real author of Kilgore Trout's Venus on the Half-Shell
"But transportation issues are social-justice issues. The toll of bad transit policies and worse infrastructure—trains and buses that don’t run well and badly serve low-income neighborhoods, vehicular traffic that pollutes the environment and endangers the lives of cyclists and pedestrians—is borne disproportionately by black and brown communities."

Fascinating.

Krahulik and Holkins should start a cult.

Hell, I'd join.
