I was gone for a week in Scotland and away from my notes. But I'm back now. We can get started at any time.

As a PC with several levels of experience, I figure that Drovak learned his economics from practical exposure.

Are the various currencies of Derpistan fiat currency or commodity money (á la gold in original 3.5)?

Llanaden Leaves are Fiat Money. Thorigram metal coins and Zundun Zylots are backed by their metal content and by the issuing bank's assets respectively.

I don't know what kind of money Tals are. Or if Korbahl and Sweland have their own currency.

I thought the pie metaphor was for a capitalist economy were growth is required but are we not in a pre industrial society? Then judging from what I've heard regarding some of the inventions we may be in the transition phase in whitch case we should be biulding rail roads

Confusingly, the pie metaphor I am using ("The economy is like a pie in that all the rich people get a slice and want their slice of it to be big and tasty. And if someone casts a spell on it to make it a bigger pie, that's exponentially better for people who have bigger slices.") is not the same pie metaphor as people usually make ("The economy is like a pie in that it would be more fair if everyone got an equal slice.")

ah i thought the pie metaphor you were using is

"capitalism is like a pie the more people there are the more slices you need therefore you want the pie to be constantly growing so everyone can get a slice they can live with oh and better people get a bigger slice"

Just checked to be sure, Lizardfolk don't have lowlight or darkvision.
EDIT: Ack, this is the wrong OOC thread. Sorry.

Silk thug, silk thug, silk thug (Silk thug!)
No one sews as much silk as the silk thug
Ready for action, sewin' these dress shirts with a passion
(Silk thug!) You need some cloth? He pulls it straight out of the silk bug
Ain't got time for bitches, gotta practice my stitches
(Silk Thug!) Eat a messy durian, clean up at the sweatshop
Ain't a minute of the day that my swag stop
But no-one understands the pain that I feel
When the boss sells my shirts for a price that's a steal
Yeah, you can keep the cotton off my desk, bitch,
I want it straight from the spider so it feel rich
(Silk thug, silk thug)

Sadly I don't know the original song...

Perhaps I shouldn't be in charge of the party's advertising campaigns.

Is this still going on? I was waiting for a response to Drovak's pitch, as John really didn't have much to add.

This game seemed pretty cool. It also seems quite dead. If Frank doesn't particularly want to run it, or the party all flaked out, or whatever, I wonder if he'd mind posting the notes for the thing?

Might be cool. I'm not running anything economics heavy right now, but I was thinking about doing a major Economics and Dragons thing once I finished Age of Wonders 3 and figure out how to use its level editor for a setting map. Some ideas to rip off for the Humans/Elves/Draconians/Goblins/Orcs would definitely be useful.
