Worse/Best classes/skills/feats/magic items for Adventurers

Some classes/skills/feats/equipment (Stuff) can be used to build a powerful casters or fighters or sneaker or whatever. Other Stuff builds better adventurers.

For example, if you take a fighting guy, and load him up with all the +X Stuff he can get, like Ammies of Natty armor, stat boosting items, Resistance items, pimp weapons and armor, ring/cloak of protection, ect, then you end up with a guy who is pretty good as a fighting guy.

But, he sucks as an adventurer. In a standard pouzzly adventure, he is not th one who is going to pull crazy crap out of his ass, because he doesn’t really have many abilities outside of combat.

Now take the same fighter, and load him with mithral armor, a +1 magic weapon or two, and his magic item list full of stuff like Figurines of Wonderous power, Potions (spells like spiderclimb, fly, blink), Rings of evasion or spell storing or the like, intelligent items, and other assorted wacky stuff, and he won’t be as pimp in combat. However, as an adventurer, he’ll be better because he can be a better problem solver with his dozen extra abilities.

What if his feats were done in the same way, and he never took Weapon Focus or Specialization, or any other feat that granted a static plus, and he instead took other feats like Tactical feats that granted new abilities? He’d be worse at the “take damage/dish damage” equation, but as an adventurer you can win the game by “killing” a golem by pushing it into a pit trap that it cannot climb out of or flying above it and into the room/castle/adventure place/etc.

Based on this principle, what are the best/worse Stuff for classes?

I’ll start with a few underappreciated items:

Best:
Figurine of Wonderous Power(Griffin): At 10K, you get a flying mount that can be taken into dungeons, a CR 4 monster with 7 HD, and a summoned monster than can be thrown into traps and instant death situations once a day.

Ring of Blinking: At 27 K, you get a movement form through solid objects, a great weapon defense, and as a rogue you get sneaks attacks for days.

Ring of Invisibility: At 20K, you get to be invisible. Pimp!

Ring of Spell Storing, minor: At 18K, you get five levels of spells. With a party wizard, you can be the extra guy to cast a Solid Fog(no save) or a Fly spell.

Stone Horse: At 10K, it’s a horse with hardness 10 that never tires or needs food and can be taken into dungeons.

Pearl of Sirines: 17K, and the water is now home.

Iron Bands of Binding: 27K and you can immobilize any creature with less than a 30 Str indefinitely.

Hat of Disguise: 1,800 and you get a perfect disguise. Pimp.

Bag of Tricks. With prices no higher than 6.4 K, and ten animals per week, you have perfect combat fodder and trap fodder.

Does it bother anyone else that jsut buying unslotted hands of glory gives you infinite item slots?

Kiira N'Vaelahr: 75,040 (PGtF) Stores everything you see or hear, with no limit. Great for those detective quests. Plus, it's slotless.

I calculated out the exact GP value for getting a free Ring slot from an item by reverse engineering the Hand of glory by calculating the cost of the spell-like abilities (as both associated and unassociated, and with both the spell-like abilities and slot having greater value). It turn out that the value of the free slot is actually nergative, or around 800gp in one case...

:bored:
