According to the actual meandering essays, Narrativism is when you play disruptively, by playing something that provokes a desired response regardless of the conceits of the game. Narrativism's example is deciding to drag in a Eunuch Sorcerer because it's awesome, whether or not it fits in the setting or the game up to that point.
I honestly have no idea how narrativism is supposed to look, because that is straight up fucking insane.

It'd probably look something like this.FrankTrollman wrote:I honestly have no idea how narrativism is supposed to look, because that is straight up fucking insane.
I wish in the past I had tried more things 'cause now I know that being in trouble is a fake idea
What I took from GNS was that different people get different things out of playing RPGs. Like what Robin's Laws of Good Gamesmastering said better.
Power Gamers, Butt-Kickers, Tacticians, Specialists, Method Actors, Storytellers, and Casuals: you can't make them all happy with the same stuff. Moderation and variety.
Because in the old days, I wasn't nice to the Butt-Kickers, on account of feeding the Tacticians too well. Which is odd, because when I play, I'm a total Butt-Kicker (with just enough Method Actor to get killed a lot). But we all read and learn.
