[Dominions 3] Two n00b questions

Post by jimbojones1971 »

[Sorry, was meant to be added to the Dominion of the Den post - I am a tard, and apologise in advance.]

I have two n00b questions, for the more experienced members of the game:
1) Does PD take effect on the turn that you build it?
2) If a unit in province A attacks a unit in province B, and vice versa, I assume they fight it out in one of A or B - is this correct?

1. Anything you build or summon will fight if the province is attacked this turn, yes.

2. Sometimes. There are four possibilities:
  • Both groups fight in province A.
  • Both groups fight in province B.
  • Neither army moves.
  • Armies switch places, Army A fights in Province B, Army B fights in Province A
The last option usually only happens when one army is very small. But it happens to lone Niefel Jarls all the time.

Thanks Frank, much appreciated.

It is interesting that the A vs B option can lead to a variety of different outcomes - helps to keep the game interesting, I guess :-)

There IS a random factor, though... so there's a small chance that you can forestall an invasion by sending a lone scout out to moon the enemy army.
