Since the bug with the quote tags (you know the one) is not going away, can we have a feature where we can ignore a specific post to save the thread's formatting?
I've tested and adding the user to your ignore list does work, but it seems like a clumsy solution for this. So I'm suggesting adding a button to hide a single post as if its user was being ignored.
If there's something about the way the system works to make this impossible, then forget it; this just came to me off the top of my head.

Programatically, both "hide post" and "hide thread" would actually work similar to the ignore feature. Clicking the button would add an entry for you in the database, and then whenever it fetched either a post or the thread list, it would check against that list.
I don't know if such a mod exists. I'll make a point to go look around, though. I'll also make a point to find some time to investigate upgrading to v3 of the software, where the quote tag issue doesn't happen. (or, at least, I've never seen the problem on a forum running v3.)
If my options are write the mod(s) myself or upgrade, I'd lean towards upgrading. I'll get the searching on my to-do list.
