ER = move a bit faster for one round. Eh. It's passable but I'd take more Nerveskitters over it any day of the week and twice on Sundays. Fly = 1 round flight is basically useless. A glitterdust or web is not. Next! You also kind of need those swift actions for other wands. Maybe my opinion is colo...

Normal invis would take two rounds to get a single attack. The entire Swift (spell that normally is a Standard and lasts much longer than one round) line is pointless though for that reason. I've gotten some use out of Expeditious Retreat, Swift and Fly, Swift they're good at levels 5-8 because the...

Then what's the point of ever casting swift invis. if you can't get a full round of attacks out of it. Normal invis is the same level.

Also, they nerfed every single piece of equipment on the basic flask rogue (down to the bandoleer!) ...

Well probaly a TPK aginast the Lich King means you're all going to have to roll up new characters to fight the zombie apocalypse. Which many now include the old PCs. That's how I'd handled it anyway.

DMs stealth nerf combat for just this reason. Actually letting PCs find out that they can't lose the combat ruins the illusion that they've been winning by their skills. Is that even possible I know I've gotten good at spotting when the DM is throwing softball, so is it even possible to mantain the...

From everything I've learned, it seems Marx was completely right about what was wrong with capitalism, mostly right on what policies where needed to fix what was wrong, but dead wrong on how to actually put his ideas into place.

Would that be a fair summation?

Let me chime in as a hopeless optimist. Yes their are still bad things things out there, wrongs that remain unrighted, and new injustices arise everyday. Think how far we have come. 1000 years ago most humanity toiled in the dirt without end and still went to bed hungry more often than not. Illness,...

So that rules out DnD because failing at DnD leads to the DM taking your character away from you and you wandering off to play Smash Bros. It's profoundly not fun to lose at DnD and most DMs nerf encounters and plots and stealth buff PCs in order to insure player success. The thing is that if you c...

Since I'm not getting a lot of feedback I thought I'd give a quick sketch of the setting. Well as an aside to the "magical" vs "martial" issues with suspension of disbelief and arbitrary 'realism' limits I don't think that either "fighters" or "wizards" should be in D&D. Instead of fighter, there should be more flavorful and slightly less limi...

aren't 1 and 2 basically the same thing? Ki superpowers, or crazy Ex Abilities are basically the same thing, from a fix perspective. It's just a power-source fluff difference. (Ex) has more limits on what you can plausably get from but it's not as blatant a reworking of the class so it offends grog...

Yes. Yes they do. Also, as MGuy points out, they will freak the fuck out if you mention that this is what they are doing. Basically, read anything Elensar ever says: there is a fundamental contradiction in that they genuinely want to face dragons and witches without the necessary abilities to be ab...

Abilites that efect the plot on a meta level aren't most players prefered cup of tea, I also worry that those sort of abilites would be very anti-imersive. Why do you have skills? Sounds like a better idea to just group spells and let your players have fun or just pick some skills but in that case don't do a point system. Those will most likely be: A) max the ones you pick or B) suck Mostly to make specializing in groups of magic more meaningful. Also...
