Oh, I get it now. It's not about saving or improving human lives in abstract, it's about saving particular kinds of lives. Who cares whether one political philosophy has openly shilled for ending American food stamps (thus damning at least thousands of people to death by starvation) -- both of them...

How is American foreign policy any different under the two parties? I don't see any real difference. Your politicians stance on abortion means fuck all to me, when the majority seem to be unopposed to high collateral drone executions and keeping soldiers in poppy fields, to protect the heroin trade....

I don't have a problem with whistleblowers or prophets of doom. People that have their sight set on serious issues that society needs to wake up to. I just get annoyed when people try to make bullshit issues relevant. I feel bad for this Pulling lady and her son. But I can't help but feel that in he...

The bless effects replace the rider on a lot of different weapons. You have to look at some of the data available for modding to make sense of it. Stuff like a poison bite or a frost brand has a secondary effect on the attack, be it poison or AoE frost. The bless effect will replace that rider with...

Yes. You can do something like cast multiple Rain of Toads on a province in order to lock down production.

There may be exceptions, but to my knowledge this is true for all event causing spells.

Lago put some links on page 13 of the more recent "fighters suck" thread. I don't know how to link to a specific post, I'm afraid. Fair warning, some of the troper quotes are nauseating. My only experience with exalted is making a character for a game about 8 years ago. I ended up creating...

LA Atlantis draws on some north American mythology.

LA Man has a summonable, undead Sidhe and the fey dogs.

Some of the Kami are ancestor spirits. Pre-Jomon, some of them would probably be living under Bakkemono or Oni rulership as humans. Then they die and their descendants summon them.

Moral panics are a form of scapegoating social issues, that see a lot of individuals jump on a bandwagon in order to raise their own profiles, for political or economic gain, or for the sake of their own ego. You only need to watch a typical mainstream 'investigative journalism' program in order to ...

No one is suggesting that classes should be made for every possible background a character could hav...

Fuck the barbarian. I want to play a cosmopolitan, or a sophisticate. Class names and comparative cultural definitions should not mix. It leads to unnecessary confusion. If anything, 'barbarian' should be a racial/background archetype, like Wild Elf or Sundered Dwarf, assuming it is required at all....

They have a better poison, poison immunity and require blood 1 to summon. I use the better poison label generally. The weak poison delivered by FoD will build up over time, with every hit they land. They might be of situational use in swamp battles or if you plan of casting spells like quagmire, or ...

I am not sure CBM is about balance. The mod is popular because it adds content. CBM nuthuggers then use that as an ad populum justification for all of the tweaks that have nothing to do with balance, or new content. I happen to like some of the new content. Some of the tweaks seem to be without rhym...

I think it would be more ethical to harvest a genetically modified pig for 'spare parts' to be used in organ transplant, than say, an unwilling or coerced human donor. Just as I think it is more ethical to eat pigs, than it is to eat humans. As a fan of science fiction, I also have issues with label...
